Disney could (potentially) get him to not post 'sensitive' photos via a court order. Disney could couch it as he published proprietary info about their new attractions and continued publication of that kind of stuff could damage Disney. I kind of doubt that happened as court filings are public information and stuff about Disney and legal action always spills out. The more likely answers are (1) Disney paid him off to cease publication or (2) Disney intimidated him into not publishing by threat of legal action. Fighting in court is spendy and a deep pocket can often scare people into not fighting.
That's so bizarre!

Looking at that video it looks like they are leaving a section of the bank free of rocks and will most likely be adding landscape. The view from New Orleans square will still look like the north end of the river is a large patch of greenery and the waterfalls will mostly be visible from critter country and the boats.

I do wonder what those large circle concretes are for. Could they be planters for trees close to the waters edge or will we finally get to see some simple animtronic animals. I'm really hoping that they did something about those eagle statues that were placed in during the last rehab. They looked like garden statues you buy at Kmart that were just glued on some poles

I've been assuming that these are for some sort of show equipment, like the limited-motion figures of the dog & kid on the log. The walls would allow for easier maintenance, allowing them to lower the river water level a couple inches and pump out the pit, rather than having to drain the entire river. It would also keep everything contained in one area, should something break and fall off the figures and/or mechanical elements.

The fountains at the south end of the island have a similar-but-different setup where they can be drained using temporary walls to allow maintenance without draining the entire river

The walls would also protect any show equipment from collisions with the free-floating rivercraft, like the rafts, canoes, and F! barges. Even though the walls may not be visible on the surface, those vessels pull a deep enough draft that they would bump against the walls rather than any set pieces

I considered that they might be for planters, but there's no need to make them that deep unless they're for massive trees, and I'm not sure that living plants could survive in the nasty green water anyway

Disney could have forced him to quit posting pics by way of a court order or injunction, but word of that would have gotten out. I suppose Disney could have threatened all sorts of legal action and he got scared and is laying low for a while.
Or maybe they told him, "stop posting those pics or we won't invite you to press events"

What legal grounds would The Walt Disney Company have in 2017 to hang an online blogger out to dry for posting a blurry photo of a construction site map? If the company is truly that ruthless and petty then I need to rethink my fanatism.
I think we all occasionally have reasons to rethink our fanaticism. Just seeing the behavior of some bloggers/super fans (not mintcrocodile) makes me rethink it on a regular basis.

Do we think that will be as high as the berm will go? Regardless, I think the rock work will blend in well.

This green line represents the height of Mickey and Friends Parking. So, it's possible the rock 'berm' won't even be this high. But rumor has it that some of the peaks will be around or above Matterhorn height.

Like I said, I think this is worst case scenario.
