You have been immersed!

Well, you see, this is part of the story. The Falcon is a modified cargo ship. Therefore, this is build up to the fact you're about to fly the ship that moved all these crates.

That makes sense, but why are we seeing some un-Star Warsian backstage buildings next to these Earthly shipping containers and fireproofed steel beams that look like they aren't meant to be seen?

Great question. Well, because everything in Galaxy's Edge is canon, Batuu's petrified trees are actually on top of office buildings in canon now. It's actually giving guests the full experience of the majesty of the Star Wars they remember as a child: windowless buildings, shipping containers, and phone apps.

Question for anyone who has been on the ride and used a fast pass or virtual queue, if you go through the fast pass queue, do you get to see the same things you do in the regular queue? One of the most annoying things for us when using a fast pass for GOTG, was being ushered past the decent stuff to look at in the queue and not being able to see most of it.

Fast Pass isn’t being used yet, but the sights are similar. You go around the periphery of the main engine repair room, and merge with standby before the preshow.

However, you do lose the views around the backside of the Falcon since the Fastpass line is further into the building and does not have those views along the back and over the top of the Falcon.

I’m not in the park yet but my first impression coming off the free of seeing the backside of rock work is less than welcoming.

If I wait in the standby line alone and then request the pilot position, what are the odds I'll get it? Let's just pretend I have no one in the world. I feel like I'll be put aside and get stuck last with a group like a single rider would and end up with a ruined experience as engineer.

They usually hand the pilot card to kids but it’s really up to the CM sorting the line.

If I want to get into the cantina, will I need a reservation?
Yes. I have been testing to see how late in the day I can still get a reservation for 1 or 2. Some days at 4 or 5 I can still get a reservation at 10:30. However, I wouldn't push your luck, earlier is better.

Indiana Jones Adventure is still the most thrilling ride in the park.
We'll see what ROTR delivers. I have high expectations.

Btw, I didn't tell everyone that a Guest Services Cast Member approached us while we were resting and quizzed us on Disneyland trivia. Easy peasy. She accidentally gave us each 2 Fastpasses for any ride in either of the parks, for use anytime during the day. Sweet!!

If you see a guest services cast member conducting trivia quizzes or surveys, don't be shy!

What are people’s experiences with the virtual queue? If you get there at 9, an hour after park open, when do you get into the land? How crowded once in?

I’m debating going July 14th and wondering if it’ll be crazy.

There is no virtual queue. You can just walk right into the land.
