Not sure why you singled me out on that but glad to hear you enjoyed it.

Didn't mean to - was just offering my two cents to much of the negativity from a few people. It's all good :)

I respect everyone's opinion, but there's certainly a flavour on the forum of certain serial posters obsessed with posting negative things about it - like they're the oracles of judgement for the land.

Glad to hear you're cool that I loved it. As it should be. Totally respect your stance too.

I made a reservation for myself in January. I'm not a big drinker and I was hoping for more snack/food options. I may just go in to check the place out and leave.

[Sorry to repeat what I said in my trip report, but...] I wish we had when we visited last week. Our server disappeared, nobody would clean our filthy table, our drinks took 30 minutes to reach us after we ordered, and after they did, we found they were all incorrectly prepared (wrong colors, wrong glasses, missing garnishes, no dry ice with the Carbon Freezes) and had been given to us with no napkins, coasters, straws or silverware (e.g., to fish out popping pearls). We left Oga's sticky, incredibly disappointed... and still thirsty.

If we'd known how awful the service and execution at Oga's were going to be, we'd have simply spent 5 minutes walking around, enjoying the atmosphere and music and taking a few pictures, and then left without ordering anything, and with our dignity intact. (Nor would we have needed to feel guilty: many in the long line of patrons waiting for walk-up seating would then have gladly stepped in to take our place.) Instead, our service was so horrible (and the horribleness so obvious to one of the servers), that when he saw us leaving, he called out, unsolicited, "I'm really sorry about that!" He did it so easily, that I imagine the servers at Oga's have to do a lot of apologizing.

In all seriousness, if they simply retheme the land and the 2 rides to Tatooine, Luke, Leia, Han, Chewie and Darth, most of the issues will be solved. They have a timeless trilogy to draw on forever. The sequels are forgettable and the new trilogy is becoming laughable. Bob Iger just has to admit that "his" SW can't match the audience draw possessed by classic SW. Egos must be set aside. George must be paid his cut. :D

Tror, did you just Angry-Face my comment?!? It was so innocent! I'm not saying a classic retheme would solve all the issues, but it would be a good starting point. Retheming the place to Tatooine would require--what--20 bucks and a paintbrush? :D

A co-worker just returned from DLR after spending a few days there with her family. She's an intelligent, imaginative person who I'd classify as "normal" level DL visitor. She enjoys movies and theme parks, but doesn't spend much time talking about them. She goes to DL about once every couple of years. She's not happy with how expensive Disney's become.

Her review of Galaxy's Edge: "Meh." Her review of Smuggler's Run: "Meh."

If only she had seen it at WDW - there it's apparently AMAZING!!!!

I absolutely agree a thousand times. Rumors are Episode 9 Rise of Skywalker will borrow heavily from Episode 6 Return of the Jedi. They have to after destroying the Jedi so thoroughly that I have no interest in anything Star Wars anymore. Bring back a little hope to Star Wars.

Sounds like the first few months after DCA's opening. I remember ordering a wrap sandwich in the farm area approx where Flo's is now. It took the stand 45 minutes to give me my sandwich. I even saw it sitting on the counter for twenty minutes but the brain dead employee wouldn't give it to me. She said it wasn't her job to fill orders. She only took orders and handled the cash register. Since there was no one around her, she didn't know she had to give the food to us too.

Of course this is par for the course at Magic Mountain every day.

I have no recollection of what the bountiful valley farm area looked like. I remember Soarin, Paradise Pier 1.0, GRR, and Superstar limo but that’s about it. We must of just walked through it since there was nothing to do. I also can’t recall if I watched the Whoopi Goldberg film.

Yeah DCA 1.0 felt like the theme park they used to have at the MGM Grand in Vegas.

I remember that theme park. Their "Jungle Cruise" ride was pretty awful. Just what I wanted to be shot at by helicopters.

They had a pretty good raft ride though. Very DCA 1.0

Lol wow Blast from the past. Wasn’t there also some really weird dark ride? Or is that also the boat ride? Was there not a flume ride and an indoor coaster too?
