Inserting pop-culture (and references to it) into movies that take place in a fantasy settings (ie; non-earth reality) makes for a bad movie.
Lucas has lost the magic of the first 3 SW movies and has become a flashy (special effects for the sake of effects.. not to add to the story), out-of-touch director. At least with episode I, we'll see how II is when it's out, but to have NSync in is dumb. To even have actors that household names is not a good move either, IMHO.
