Star Tours Letdown

Pepole,i now warn you the time is now to go on STAR TOURS, for this is no joke, thier will be a new film!!! I liked it just the way it is.
But disney has only closed one ride due to compliants or pepole that protested to keep a ride open before it closes. That would be [drum roll insert] JIYI and it was no suprise. I think i'll be at disney during this time to protest. This information was confirmed by the orlando setinial. what do you think.

Not only should the film be changed or updated...the WHOLE ride system should change...Once again I will say... I HATE SIMULATORS!!!!

Oh and if you were all wondering about JII audio-anmatronics the orignal, a CM{i know they lie LOL} said that some of the figment audio-anmatronics were used for this one{no they wouldn't put the crappy stuff from the upside-down house in like the toilet dripping P&& all over your new shorts LOL]

Definatly time for a change. If they update the movie or totally redo the ride, I'd be happy. But there's so much in the Star Wars universe now. there's so much more they could do.

Bringing it in line with Episodes 1 and 2 would be fine. I know we would sometimes like things to stay the same, but WDW needs change to keep the folks coming back!

those of you who don't like simulators, what sort of ride system would you rather see in there? there isn't a whole lot of room in the star trours building for new ride systems....
so what are your suggestions?

Definitely change up the movie, but I think they should keep a couple of the sims, like one or two, with the old movie that way we still have the old one, and fill the rest up with new ones. They also need to redo the sims because they're VERY uncomfortable. I don' agree that they should take them out because then what would the ride be? I have always loved this ride, but it does need a refurbishment BAD.

Ok, some sims aren't bad...if you want my honest opinion...I think they should just redo the WHOLE building and put in something like Spidey...but since that's illogical...and a simulator must be done...CYBER SPACE MOUNTAIN...make it like THAT with a movie in it...

Correct me if I'm wrong - the ride is called Star Tours ? Does this imply that the attraction is based on the Star Wars films ?
Outside, the guests queue around an Ewok village (Episode VI ?).
Once inside guests queue around a flight departure area with announcements for flights to various planets/star systems. On view are R2D2 & C3P0 (Episodes IV, V, VI, I & II).
Once on the "ride" whatever happened to Star Wars
My thoughts - keep the queue areas, possibly updating the inside area. GET RID OF THE SIMULATOR. Replace it with something along the lines of Space Mountain, lets have more Star Wars effects and why not add some theme music ??

I really enjoy the flight in to the Death Star, but I'm open to the chance of a new experience.

I think a great solution would be to massivley update the simulators, and keeping a couple of sims running the Death Star run (ie, service to Endor) and the rest running a newer film (perhaps service to Tatooine or Coruscant). It would keep with the idea that you're in an intergalactic star port ;-)

Ok first of all...I don't see where you are coming from? Second of all...everything about that ride has to do with Star Wars...from the queue line to the giftshop. (Granted, I understand that none of the theming really follows any particular storyline of the movie) but it DOES follow a THEME.

R2D2 and C3PO work for Star Tours...(although, if you didn't notice...R2D2 is IN the X-WING that blows up the Death Star (little flub on their part).

The ride is probably the most climactic scene in any of the star wars films...I don't see where you think

I love what they have now for Star Tours, but a change would be sweet. Maybe if they took a pod racing scene from Phantom Menace or if they took the scene from Clones where Obi Wan is chasing Jango and Boba Fett.

First of all I'd like to announce this is my 100th post (WOOHOO! ).

Second, the atmosphere of the ride is totally all different aspects of Star Wars. The reason the Ewok village is out in front, in my opinion, is that it's the most "friendly" atmosphere from any of the Star Wars movies, and the most inviting outside atmosphere for incoming families. And the reason that C3PO and R2D2 are around is because they are the only non-human characters that are important and are in all the movies, without dying. Plus I really enjoy how the movies really aren't thrown on to the visitors because it would just make it cheesy and not a totally new experience from the movies. I think the most probable and concievable new movie will be podracing since the tour "bus" can accidently fly into the starting gates and race, or something like that. I'm rambling.

But at least I'm earning my ears!

I wouldn't mind a new film (although I think the old film is still great) but I wouldn't change anything else. I like that its a simulator and I like the inside/outside. So I would leave all that the same. Thats my two-cents!
