The LEGOLAND New York Resort is currently under construction and scheduled to open in Spring of 2020. Merlin Entertainments is using $350 million to transform 500 acres in Goshen, New York, into their resort. The resort will be located 60 miles from New York City and under 3 hours from Philadelphia and Boston. It will consist of the 150-acre theme park as well as the on-site LEGOLAND Hotel New York. The hotel will boast 250 rooms and be open year-round.
LEGOLAND New York will be the world’s ninth LEGOLAND. Others are found in California, Florida, Denmark, Germany, the United Kingdom, Dubai, Malaysia, and Japan. The design is largely a combination of the best from LEGOLAND California and LEGOLAND Florida. Thanks to winters in the Northeast, the park will be seasonal, operating from April through November. There will be eight themed sections of the park: The Factory, Bricktopia, Ninjago World, Heartlake City, Knights' Kingdom, Lego City, Miniland, and Pirate Shores.
This will be the first section visitors will encounter. The fun begins here with the Big LEGO Adventure – where you’ll find out what it’s like to be a LEGO minifigure! You’ll be magically shrunk to miniature size and be right in the action of LEGO bricks being created!
