SSR - Treehouses - what do I need to know?

Pumbas Nakasak

Heading for the great escape.
They are the only bit of SSR worth staying at. The pool was deserted when we stayed there, parking can be problematic depending on where you stay, its quicker to get off the bus at the 1st stop and hoof it across the golf course than wait for resort buses, some treehouses have no real view, its plenty space for 7, 9 may be a bit cramped, if you have a BBQ try not to set fire to the ground, the varanda is a good place to fly your Jolly Rodger.

Thank You!! Im really interested in staying there!! Have a great trip!!
Hi Todd ~ Happy New Year!

I wanted to follow up with how our vacation in the tree houses went...and there is not anything bad that I can say about it! We (9 of us) were there December 22 through the 27th. I called DVC member services and requested a few villas that were mentioned here - we were in Villa # 7034. This villa is right on the walking path to the main building and it is steps away from the internal resort bus stop as well. We never waited more than 5 minutes for a bus to pick us up - and even waiting for a park bus was never more than 10 or 15 minutes. Our deck did not face the golf course - but our living room windows did - so we have a nice view. It was not overly cramped at all in the villa with the 9 of us (and we did not have any small children - the "children" were 15, 18, 19, 24, 26 and then the 4 parents.) We did not have any issues with running out of hot water for baths/showers either - and of the 9 - 5 are girls! :-) We had more than enough "living space" between the living room, the dining room with the table that sat 6 and then 3 at the breakfast bar area. We even had room for a 4 foot Christmas tree that we had shipped down prior! It was a great place to stay for all of us and I wouldn't hesitate staying there again!

we stayed in room 7028. There was a bus stop not more than 20 feet away from our vehicle. My dad uses a wheelchair and we would leave the wheelchair in the vehicle until time to go catch the bus. Worked out great. We had a great view of the water and boats and we never heard any horns that were bothersome. The buses were also very good. I think one morning we had to wait a little over 25 minutes for the MK one but that is no more than usual for that park. The internal bus was not an issue either. We had 7 and never had an issue running out of hot water. We are planning to stay there again this November. We like that the kids can run around the room and not disturb anyone above, below or next door. We own at BLT, but have not stayed there yet, Have done OKW and SSR Treehouse Villas and have had no complaints anywhere.

This is a helpful thread for me! We are staying in the Treehouses (and Saratoga) for the first time in April. And then we'll be at GFV for the first time in August! Woohoo, a magical year for us!
