SSE reopening: imagination refurbishment?

Dunno how viable or valuable it is, but a friend and I were at Epcot a few days ago and went to Imagination, just because... well... I'm kinda in love with Figgy.

Anyways... this certain friend had never ridden the original and I was saddening him with my tales of the wonderful attraction that used to house the space and the fantastic imageWorks that sits stagnant upstairs.

We somehow came up with the brilliant idea that, since we are both cast members, we should be allowed access to the upstairs section of the pavillion.

After staring longingly at the elevator and roped off staircase, we decided that it couldn't hurt to just ASK somebody.

Finally, we found an area manager and basically begged him for access to the old imageWorks area.

Of course, he denied our request but was so kind and loose-lipped enough to inform us that Imagineering and Epcot management has been poking around upstairs and discussing plans that would include (apparently) the re-opening of the upstairs area.

Obviously in a heavily modified design, but nonetheless...

Italian Meatloaf Recipe

This meatloaf recipe is also called Meatloaf Braccioli because of the way the loaf is rolled. Braccioli means rolled meat in sauce. This meatloaf recipe offers a new twist for braccioli since it is made of ground beef to form a meatloaf. It is truly an enjoyable meal.

Ingredients

• 1 pound ground beef (leaner is better)
• 1 4 ounce can mushrooms (reserve juice)
• 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
• 1 large egg
• 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 4 center cut bacon strips
• 1 teaspoon dried parsley
• 1/2 teaspoon oregano
• 1/2 teaspoon basil
• 1/2 teaspoon thyme
• 2 tablespoons dry bread crumbs
• 1/2 onion, finely chopped
• 1 cup mozzarella cheese
• 1 8 ounce can tomato sauce

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Add water to mushroom juice to make 1 cup. Fry bacon until crispy, drain and crumble. Set aside.

Combine beef, 1/2 cup breadcrumbs, egg, mushroom juice, garlic powder and salt in a large bowl. Mix well. On wax paper, form meat mixture into a 8x12 inch rectangle.

Sprinkle meat with parsley, oregano, basil, thyme and 2 tablespoons of breadcrumbs. Spread bacon, onion, mushrooms and cheese evenly over meat.

Roll meat into an 8 inch wide loaf. Place meatloaf into an 8 inch glass bread pan or glass baking dish.

Bake for 60 minutes. Pour tomato sauce over meatloaf, and cook for an additional 15 minutes.

Let meatloaf sit for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
Do they really have to be center cut?

Which Area Manager did you ask? I would be able to tell you if it was a friendly one or not so friendly one. I got to go up there after my training and it was pretty sad. The rainbow tunnel looks a sad neon sign. The big giant paintbrushes are all over the place. But the pin tables are still there!

PS. Can you fit in Pooh, Zach and Cody, and Chicken Little?

Honestly,I don't think that Imagination is gonna be refurbed anytime soon. The ride might not be up to EPCOT Center's fan's expectations but for the casual observer it's ok.My Mom loved it.

The good news for everyone is that hardly anyone agrees with your mother, as nice as she my be. The pavilion is pretty much abandoned and so if Disney isn't considering it, they're stupid.

I would also like the Land to get an update. Replacing Boat Captains DOES NOT COUNT!!! The boats sink, audio skips, and costumes stink. If it weren't for Soarin' the ride probably would have been changed to Living With The Land Starring Ratatouille! Every ride in FWW has a theme except us...:brick:
Though I have heard rumors of it getting a facelift. Apparently upper management rode it this summer and was "very disappointed". I'll hold my breath.
I've also heard tell of management wanting to increase Image's re-rideabilty. I see that as a much greater possibility but I doubt it will happen immediately after SSE.

Although I completely agree with all of these ideas and also believe that we cannot update and overhaul everything to the point where we lose the original message from the early Epcot Center...Edu-tainment was such a huge part in the construction of the park that i think that each and every attraction needs a refurb but they also need to stay true to sending the guests a message

Hehehe...I certainly don't agree with her.LOL...I was just tryin' to show that the casual Disney fan moderately enjoyed the ride.

Nice sig, VacationPlanner...that sounds familiar.:brick:

When is Energy being updated

Oh, Im sorry. Haven't heard? We are running out of energy....very sad I'm afraid. :lookaroun

No... not right now. They really need to do something with WoL first.

Without a major sposnor - I just don't see it happening. (No matter how much we would all like to see it.)

Date will be set depending on the december openings of SSE

It's not news until Steve, Corrus, Lee, Martin or Merf say so - at least in my book.

Aww, thanks, but i really just function as an aggregate. I search the web and scour the parks for new stuff, not really "making" news so to speak. Not like i'm an investigative journalist.

Merf gave us news and pics on the mirror column and the merfcove! :sohappy: speaking of which, when I go to WDW in January, I gotta see the merfcove. :dazzle:

Yeah, I gotta agree with you on that. A Major reason I liked the retheme of Imagination was because it fit with the theme of HISTA, thus giving the whole pavilion a single theme and story. However, now that I look back at HISTA I start to think that it's time to retire it and if you're going to do that, you might as well change Imagination and if you're going to change Imagination, you might as well bring back what everyone wants. (and perhaps make that even better than before)

I rode both of these things today. It was as if I was riding them for the first time though. I had an ENTIRELY different experience.

Imagine you're blind, and you're at WDW solo. Yep, I'm here and doing it right now. Now, imagine riding an attraction with an earpiece describing the fact that Figment is rearranging the letters on an eye chart or that his house contains an upside down blah blah blah. yep, I'm so happy that I had a few minutes to catch my breath and realize that this trip changed the game for me completely. I also think the new tech would indicate that they plan to keep this running for a while. PM me if you want to know more about descriptive attractions. It simply changed the world of WDW for me the second I walked into the Imagination institute.
