SSE Paperboy runs off with musicians!

Hehe. I'll have photos up in a little bit of today's par wandering, but the Paperboy from Spaceship Earth is gone (and his shouting "Extra-Extra!" too. Right before him the musicians in the renaissance scene are gone, replaced with what appears to be burlap covering one of their posts.

Oh and there's also a box with a diffusion/crystal screens and some christmas lights added as a prop in the garage scene. Anyone familiar with the Woz and perhaps have any clue what it is?

Photos shortly (not of woz's room or the paperboy, i just happened to get stopped where the musicians should be thouh!) Other stuff too.

Weird, I wonder why they were taken out? Was the background that used to be behind paperboy that he was shouting extra at still there?

I have no clue why, but he was always one of my favorite parts of SSE. I especially liked when he had more of a little kids voice and said, "Extra! Extra! New York Daily!" I'll miss him.

he could be removed for repairs? :shrug: after all he wasn't working anyway and they spent the money on recording a new voice for him, the musicains probably weren't working well either.

Ya know, someone was running amuck because several of the escape doors in the attraction were slightly open.

Anywho, the post-show area - is this newish?

Cuz it's a depiction of Epcot and flanked by two more panels.. suggesting a futuristic cityscape, one that it'd sure be nice to see behind those tarps that are in the descent. The hundrds of triangles still sit there in the dark..

Elsewhere, the toys are gone from Pizza Planet save for woody and buzz.

And though it's only supposed to be the one stage for American Idol, the back of both 10 and 11 were refurb-walled.

All the way to the Disney radio thingy on the side of Sounds Dangerous.

Nice picture of the original Epcot in the post show.

Interesting the toys starting to be removed from Pizza Planet. I wonder how much longer they'll keep it open like that.

Progress on the hunchback stage.

People were working on the roof.

And the walls almost completely hide Al's Toy Barn but it was still operating.

Sadly, Figment isn't at home anymore.. They evne took down the signs on the building.

To keep the dream alive, someone put the flower on a flag.

Not to mention, Tom's dead.

Oh well, life goes on - without Tom. At the Contamporary.. what the heck is this? It was laying next to a refurb wall:

How long as that "The 21st Century beg..." Shirt been selling? The last few visits I have not seen that one.

Why are the paper boy and musicians gone? Odd, considering they just gave the attraction a six month refurb. I'm sure they'll be back soon, especially the musicians, as they are an important part of the Renaissance scene.

I agree with you on the city scape mural in the post show. That would make for one awesome future city model if it was on the attraction.

It has a space mountain! Wonder what we'd find if i had bothered to take photos of the other 2 panels.
