I agree. The screens really don't add any value to the actual ride. They could have been done without the ride. As the matter of fact, if we really wanted to see our face in a video, with the proper editing tools, we could do the exact same thing in our homes. Not to mention, how long will this technology be unique? I am willing to bet that a similar technology will be out for the general public to use in couple years and then this new ending will be called "lame" by even first time guests. As a temporary ending, it will do, but in a few years it will need to be updated or it will be outdated much faster than the older versions.
The fact is, and I think everyone would agree, most people would prefer a dark ride ending to a, well, dark ride. The survey could have easily been put into Project Tomorrow and had the exact same effect and response. All it does, being a part of the actual ride is force people (including those who do not want to) to take it and cut what I wall call the real ride time down (because the ride basically ends at the top).
I will be the first to applaud when this ending is scrapped during the next revamp which probably will be sooner than later as the technology involved will become less unique as time goes on.
On the Mac u can add your face to another back ground, and if u are lucky and computer know it all u can install a version of the Star Wars hologram in Photo booth and Logitec has a similar appication
