Spring Trip

We are heading down in the spring for F&G (never seen it). We are wondering your thoughts on a few things:

-We have flexibility on timing, we are considering 3/1/15 thru 3/13/15 or 4/26/15 thru 5/9/15

-We usually go in the fall and get the free dining, thinking about passing on the dining plan this time but still go to a few sit downs - Yachtman Steakhouse (never been, in place of Le Cellier), Garden Grill ( Love this place), and maybe try Boatwright's (staying at POFQ)

-We love the Luau but going to give the Hoop De Doo another try ( we were disappointed in the food the first time we went in 2008)

-Also going to do a few off property stuff, Busch Gardens, Medieval Times, and maybe a day on the west coast at Sanibel Island with seashells.

Would appreciate any thought you all may have.

I would be careful about the month of March due to Spring break season. We went in April, 2012 and had perfect weather and very light crowds. It was a great time to go but keep it a secret.....please.:)

I would definitely pick April-May. I've been to F&G 3 times in May and always had good experiences with crowds and weather. F&G has recently taken more of a F&W approach with lots of food booths springing up so it's a little bit of both worlds!

May would be my suggestion. It is generally very nice weather-wise and it is kind of the "calm" before the summer storm of crowds. We liked March, but it was extremely crowded. Any time after the Easter week crowds head home until Memorial Day weekend is usually a good bet if you hope to avoid high attendance levels.

I would choose April-May, we have been three times the beginning of May and have always been lucky with weather and crowds. I love the Flower and Garden Festival, when we went this year they had added some food booths too!!

I've gone in March multiple times. It's busy, but you can manage to do everything you want if you plan it right. April-May is probably the better option, as stated above. March to mid-April tends to be when most spring breaks are.

May was the best time I went. (July wasn't horrible with waits but the tour groups were everywhere and that held us up). Hopefully October will be nice to go.

That said, I didn't find Flower and Garden festival to be anything crazy. They do keep up a lot of hedge sculptures and you see a lot of nice flowers but there's already so much that stands out and catches your eye that you'd not look twice if you were there your first time; might assume they're always around.

I've never been during food and wine and that's when I want to go most. (Fat guy problems)..

March might be a better month for some more mild weather though. So take that into consideration.

Honestly, the crowd levels will be high, because it is spring because I recommend to all of you who have an irritation in the crowd do not go there in the spring and care for the pick pockets there..

This is kind of the opposite of what everyone else here has said about my April/May dates. Also pick pockets, I have never heard that in 28 trips.
