Spring Break at Disney with no advance Fastpasses: Help!

I've been happily counting down the days to my Disney vacation (April 1st! So close yet so far...), and after looking at anothet thread dealing with booking fastpasses this time of year, I realize I'm going face to face with a huge predicament....

The trip we're going on is provided by a travel company that won't give us pur tickets until we get on the bus to go. This means I'll have a few hours, if not a day or two, to book fastpasses... Since the last time I went was 2011, this is the first time I will be using the new system, and I fear it'll be too late to get passes for the rides I want. :(

If anyone has any advice, I would love to hear it! I'm planning on buying a Magicband already- should I order it now or later? Once I get the ticket, I'm going to link the band to the ticket because even though we're not staying on site, I'm a big nerd and I just have to have one :D Any help with this will be appreciated greatly!!!

Don't forget to make your dining reservations in October of last year.

I can't help you with your question, but I can offer a few suggestions. We did a one day MK visit last year during Spring Break, so we had only a day to set up any type of Fast Passes. Needless to say, we didn't get much. If possible arrive at whatever park you'll be going to at rope drop. We were able to get in Snow White, Peter Pan, Splash, and a few others before noon. MK starts to empty out quickly after Wishes, so you can usually get a few attractions in before park closing.

Thanks for your advice, rob0519! Luckily, my tour group was just we'll be getting our tickets in advance by at least a week, which gives me a little hope! I'll let you guys know how everything goes ^^ I'm definitely rushing to the rides I want as soon as the rope drops in any case!

Check it multiple times each day.. also.. break your party up into smaller groups.. I am usually able to get 2 groups of 2 that overlap for 30 min or more, instead of being denied 4 fp+ for all rides.. then I can use those set FP's and tweak the times.. almost always within the last week I can get things to fall into place where they are perfectly together, or only off by 5-10 minutes on each end..

Unfortunately Mine Train and Frozen are rides you will either have to rope drop to save time, or wait in whatever the posted time is.. because it's very rare to get more than 2 fpasses for those in a day.. let alone ones that overlap..
