Spray bottle fans

Last month at the MK I noticed more and more people are using the spray bottle fans. While in line a lady 2 people in front of us kept spraying herself but wasn't concerned at all that she was also spraying the peroson directly behind her, us, and the people behind me. I am not saying that the water didn't feel good and yes I know it is Florida and it is really really hot (native floridian) but it just amazing how inconsiderate people can be. By the way when we asked her to stop spraying us she said NO I'M HOT.

I love those spray bottles, Great way to beat the heat.

When I worked showkeeping at Studios, I used to walk up to younger guests and ask them to spray me. 1) They always got a kick out of spraying the guy that works for the park, and 2) It cooled me off

But every once in a while, you'd get a parent that would tug on the kids hand and tell them "Lets go, stop wasting your water" It was sad cause I would usually wave at the kid as they were being dragged off and they would almost always give me a little wave back. Unfortunately, some people are naturally rude I guess and don't realize that you can refill those bottles evidently

I don't mind getting wet unless I have my camera out. But I agree that the people doing the spraying should be more considerate. We were standing in line once and I kept feeling the back of my legs getting tinkled on, I turned around and then was a kid there spraying the back of my legs. He wasn't even using it on himself. When my DD used hers I would make sure she was pointed away from people.

I like the spray bottles sometimes..but not when other people have a total disregard for the people around them. My niece constantly used hers July 2005 and it was just so annoying being constantly sprayed I finallyhad to make her stop. What really annoys me about them though is that they're too big. My parents and I used to have smaller ones which eventually broke and they weren't such a pain to carry around. I wish Disney would make a smaller size so that it would fit in the bags we bring to the parks.

I can understand where you're all coming from but there are always things that seem rude..
I'd much rather be misted in the face with water from a fan then...have someone talking on their cell phone on an attraction...

Even when the sprayer is pointed directly at the person it is intended for...the spray gets fanned sideways and backwards as well. Better than having someone with unbearable B.O. standing next to you, isn't it?

You have NO IDEA how much I agree....... I've left lines because the person infront/behind of me was so horribly smelly.:hurl:

I have my own solution to the problem. I have a small plastic atomizer bottle (you can find them in the travel kit sections of stores) and one of those folding fans (they're about the size of a fat pen, and are circular when unfolded) Now, granted, I have to spritz with one hand and fan with the other, or spritz and then fan, but the spray only gets on my face, and everything fits in my purse...I keep the bottle upright in a side pocket, and refill it as needed. I have a special "summer" bag that has a special pocket for a water bottle on the outside, and there's room for the spray bottle.

I can also use the fan without the water, and everything is extremely light and compact.

This was a problem with my son on our past trip. He would always end up spraying himself and the person behind him in line. We tried so many times to correct him with this. Its hard for kids to understand that not everyone wants to get wet!

Next time, no spray fan, I think!

Spray the person with the B.O. and they'll smell even worse.
After accompanying two girls with misters to Disney World, I came to really dislike those things. As someone who does like to tape attractions, my camera(s) are usually out. I found myself constantly having to either dodge sprays (from them or other kids/adults) or rush to get the water off the camera. It's a small annoyance, admittedly, but I found that I enjoyed getting sprayed less and less every time it happened.

This thread is actually quite funny to me because my family always experience being sprayed while we are in line. It really doesnt upset me but it can be quite annoying. Not everyone wants to be misted. If it's a young child doing it and they don't realize that another person is getting wet...it's understandable..I normally turn around and smile and/or look at the parent. If the parent is responsive..I say thank you very politely.
