Spots for a Romantic Dinner?

My wife and I are heading down to Disney in a few weeks to celebrate our anniversary.

We want to pick a spot for a nice, romantic dinner. It doesn't have to be too fancy, but we'd like someplace with really good food. Steak, seafood, Italian, French would probably be out top choices but we're pretty flexible. Some kind of unique dining experience might be good to make it memorable.

About a month ago we called Disney for options, but most of our favorite Disney spots are booked up (especially Epcot restaurants) so we're thinking off-property might be our best option.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

California Grill (Contemporary), Captain’s Grill (Yacht Club), Tutto Italia (Epcot) or Chefs de France (Epcot).

Try Narcoosees at the Grand Floridian, our second favorite romantic restaurant after Victoria and Alberts and where we go when we cant spring for V&A's

Ask for a window seat and book an hour before the Electric Water pageant

We celebrated our 10 year anniversary at Narcoosee's and loved it. Honestly, it was one of the best if not the best meal I've had on property.

You may want to call back periodically to see if anyone has cancelled. We've gotten into Disney restaurants that way.

Expensive but the most romantic: Victoria & Alberts. There's a harpest and the food is gourmet. The atmosphere is intimate and upscale.

Raglan Road in Downtown Disney - I wouldn't say it's romantic but it's a great night. The food is good, the entertainment incredible and the atmosphere is nice. It's really loud in the main dining room when the musicians are playing, but it's a fun evening.

Fulton's Crab House on that big paddle boat - It's not as upscale in appearance inside as I would have liked but it's certainly unique. People seem to really enjoy the food. Request the constellation room.

Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge - Very nice place with an upscale atmosphere. You'll be able to enjoy the Lodge as well.

California Grill - another very nice restaurant. Request a window seat and try to time your dinner with the Magic Kingdom fireworks.

My wife and I got engaged at Narcoosee's, after dinner we went outside to the balcony overlooking Cinderella's castle for a "picture" with the castle, then I proposed. The servers were awesome, they played along wonderfully, then they all applauded for us and gave us complimentary champagne.

It is a very romantic restaurant, with a great view.

Try the Yachtsman's Steakhouse in the Yacht Club - good food, quite & dark interior. Another good special place is Citricos in GF, which is a romantic resort on it's own, sit in Mizner's, have a drink, listen to the band and then have dinner. Foodwise and ambiance, I like Yachtsman's.:animwink:

California Grill - very nice, upscale and if you time it right, request a window seat and watch the Magic Kingdom Fireworks.

Raglan Road in Downtown Disney isn't what I'd call romantic, but it's a great place to celebrate. There's fantastic entertainment at night, plus really good food in a very nice environment.

Victoria & Albert's would be my #1 choice for most romantic. (Kinda pricey but worth every penny!)

Or if that is too much .... try Bistro de Paris! Its above Le Chefs de France and is quiet and quaint! Plus the food is delicious!

Next on the list would be California Grill! Get reservations around 8 and watch Wishes from your table! (Request a window table! If you tell them you are there for a special occasion before hand they try really hard to accommodate you!)

Thanks for all the suggestions! Some of these restaurants will be tough to get - for example I know all of Epcot is really tight because of Food & Wine.

Does anyone have any other good off-property suggestions?

Arist Point at Wilderness Lodge is a place that my wife and I go every trip for a nice quiet dinner and the food is always good. I have experienced that even if Disney reservations says there are no reservations as long as you can go early normally you can just walk in and get a table.

We had just the opposite at YS. The stake was poor and we didn't care for the atmosphere at all. There was no intimacy and seemed like a mild step up from an Outback. Cali Grill is wonderful as is V&A's. Another idea if you're staying in a deluxe is to have private dining on your balcony. If you want to spend some really big bucks, you can have a table set up at the marina at the GF or on the beach at the GF or Poly and be served your meal there while you watch the fireworks.
