It was a lot of fun. It was exactly what you would expect from a Deadpool movie. It will be interesting to see how they handle the Deadpool humor and language within an avengers film.

And if Henry Cavill isn't the new wolverine, that's a miss in my opinion.

Captain Britain is a better fit . Even if he is a Crapaud.

That is true. He just fit so well with wolverine and it's such an important character. I love Cavill as an actor and wolverine will play a huge part in the mcu going forward I would assume. So I'd hate to see him as Captain Britain and it not really go anywhere. We absolutely know wolverine is going to play a big part. He could absolutely anchor the mcu the way evans and RDJ did.

I enjoyed it but agree the movie didn't quite do enough beyond the focus on the meta of it all.

Breaking the fourth wall is funny, but more so when unexpected and done sparingly. When you're 90 minutes into a movie where Deadpool is winking at the camera every 20 seconds, it does start to feel repetitive.

It was a nice way to recognize the Fox/Marvel era which did contribute to the success of the comic book movie genre, especially the X-Men movies.

People may not remember there was a time when it was felt shows based on comics couldn't be serious affairs. It turns out you can have both the humourous and campy Batman from the sixties as well as the dark brooding Batman that Tim Burton put on screen, and both work in their own way.
