I think they stopped the Segway tours outside the parks.

The offroad one at Fort Wilderness?

It is still on their website. I liked this one better than the EPCOT one (which I had done twice before).

I'd probably try Splitsville when it opens. When I visit Wisconsin Dells(waterpark capital of the world), I tend to wind up at a really neatly themed bowling alley called Knuckleheads because the atmosphere is unlike any ma and pa ran bowling alley.

It boils down to.. splitsville is an evening dining and lounge... whose entertainment gimmick is bowling. Some places the gimmick is live music, some it's karoke, some it's waterfront, etc. Here, the gimmick to differentiate the property vs random resturant is the bowling.

I've been saying this since the place was announced. The forumula is dining and drinks.. with bowling as the differentiator and helps keep people onsite longer. It's not about attracting a bowling crowd - they turn their nose up such places because they are overpriced.

The people that will go there will go there not because they are die hard bowlers.. but because they are looking for evening entertainment and possible food.. and the bowling twist is how they decide to go here vs Applebees/etc.

That is the business model. Bowling is the differentiator and also how to keep people longer than just a dinner table/appetizer setting. It's a fun diversion that people will do because its there, and something they can do together.

It has a market in DTD because the draw there is after park hours dining/entertainment... the convention crowds looking for food and gathering spots (this will be a good bar hang out for them)... and the locals looking for something different.

IMO - it may be setup for failure because it tries to do both food and bowling.. and won't be a master of either, but will charge a premium for both. What will make or break them is if their food is good enough to draw the dinner/lite fare crowd consistently and if they woo the conventioneers.
