Split stay's effect on tickets

When you split your stay at two different resorts does that effect how the tickets are purchased? I hope you can just book one resort for 4 nights and one for 2 with a 6 day park hopper on the first resorts booking. It would be much more expensive to do a 4 day park hopper with a 2 day park hopper.

Thanks :)

We resort hopped this summer, we bought our tickets seperate from our hotel reservations. Our park admission was on a different card and not on our resort ID card. We did it this way because we didn't know which days we were going to visit the parks and we didn't know how to divide it on the two different resort stays. It worked for us, but in the future we won't resort hop again, too much of a hassle.
We were told we had to do it this way to get the discount for a ten day pass as opposed to two 5 day passes, we made the reservations back in August 2006, I don't know if it has changed since then. When you check in to your second resort you get a new resort ID card and your last card is no longer valid. It seemed ridiculous to us that it had to be that way, their computer system wouldn't allow for any other way of doing it.

If you are getting the dining plan, however, you will need 2 seperate plans because it is linked to your resort stay, but the MYW tickets may be broken down in any fashion. For example, if you bought a 5 day (148.04) plus a one day (75.62) you would pay $304.60, but a 2 day plus a 4 day would be 373.82. Some people would choose a 6 day (231.11), and a 1 day (75.62), then save the 1 day for another time since it does not expire.

Hope this helps :)

Greetings from Rochester, NY! We had to split our resort last trip, however the park tickets are length of time tickets not resort tickets, so if you purchase a 10 day ticket you could stay at 10 different resorts if you wanted.

The only problem I see would be with a dining plan. You might need to have two seperate plans for that.

Have fun!

Seems like you would be losing a lot of money if you split it up these ways instead of just purchasing the 6 day park hopper ticket.

Exactly - that's why I posted that. Are you on the dining plan?

I've thought about doing it but it seems to be hassle if you still have to think about tips. Plus I don't know if I would like having reservations all the time. Too much worrying about being some place at some time. Would you agree? I have never done it before.

Personally we don't do it since we usually just eat counter service, and maybe one table service meal. I find it's a lot of food that frankly I don't need! But that's pretty much a personal choice. You will need reservations for a table service meal or character meal though if you plan on doing any of them, with or without the dining plan.

Now, back to the tickets! So, if you're not doing the dining plan, the simple answer is that you don't have to split the tickets into 2 seperate puchases - just buy the 6 day ticket and save yourself some money!

Hope this clarifies it for you!
