Splendid China

I just saw a show called "The Orlando List" on the travel channel. It contained a clip of Splendid China and it looked pretty interesting. No rides, but 60 miniature replicas of China's famous landmarks and several shows.

Anybody been there? How much did it cost? Was it worth it?

All the details of Splendid China admissions are at this link. Adult admission is about $28, AAA is discounted to $25.

I visited a few years ago and found it very informative and well-maintained... a pleasant, not-too-busy garden to wander while learning. It's actually quite a large area and you should plan your visit to last about 4 hours... maybe more if you stop for a meal.

I was not impressed with the food at that time... very much standard Chinese fare you'd find in any town... but I'm sure they've made changes over the years.

Likewise, the shops held few surprises.

I wished they had more in the way of movies... something close to the quality of "Wonders Of China", but they did not at that time.

Still, if I may play the role of travel writer, I'll rate the experience three solid stars... a strong 'B'... because the miniature exhibits and recorded narrations were very well done.
