One very fixable problem that has been there for years is that toward the end of the ride Brer Fox's tail is missing a lot of fur from the alligator pulling it and you can see the metal that makes up the tail. I know it's an old ride but some of the animatronics cliq so loud you can't hear what they are saying for example the Blue Bird. Just a few things on my wish list to fix.

Yep..those birds...I think it's their beaks..:animwink:

it's the best kiddy coaster on the planet! Granted my legs don't really fit in, I always go on it :) oh so fun! As for the September closure being the first and only closure of Splash to date...I know it was closed with the water drained out either Feb. 1999 or Feb. 2000...were they just being jerks and not re-habbing (that's not a word, but oh well)? It was closed like the whole week we went...they need to hurry up and close splash so it's open when I go! I've all but given up on Big Thunder...maybe I'll be surprised and all three mountains will be open! ~crosses fingers~ :king:

Well...the REASON it goes for rehab is to fix problems just like those! With the water drained it makes it easier for them to get to all of them...and gives them the opportunity to get all the little things they "passed up" when doing routine maintenence...

IF they're not doing anything with the Disneyland country bear animatronics...(They should..there's plenty, see my post in the DParis section)...they could always be remodeled and added as Brer Bear's family, or as just characters...like the geese...heck, they're playing music! That's rare..yet, you hear it...

is Feb 9 the exact date or is there a possibility it may re-open a couple of days early or so?

We're from the UK and we plan to do Magic Kingdom on Feb 8th and theres no way we do it on the 9th as thats the day we fly home!

Regards,
Paul

Let's hope this is just a conservative estimate and that it may open a day or so earlier. My trip is in early Feb as well, but flying back on Feb 10 so I suppose I should be grateful for that if I can get at least one ride in on the 9th.

I wasn't so lucky. If I'm not mistaken, CoP opened back up on the 23rd last month. That just happened to be the day we were driving back home :( .

I think that they should change Splash Mountain's end, I hate to be stucked in the "It's the Truth, It's factual, Everything is Satisfactual" gate for so long, I think it almost surpass the ride's time, so I'm more time in waiting to leave than watching Brer pals...:snore:

YES! SPLASH WILL BE OPEN ALL TRIP AND IT'LL BE CLEAN AND SHINEY! :sohappy: As for those points where you get stopped--disney planned those so they could better keep track of the logs. Having the waterfall to your right that splashes out just far enough to hit the people on the right and blowing cold air on you in the "It's the truth, it's actual..." area is just disney having fun with us. :) You know it's funny...

I really, really hope that Disney works diligently until 2/9 so that the ride will be open and squeaky clean for the first day I get there - 2/10. If it's not open then I sure hope it opens by that Friday or I don't think I'll be able to leave.

Has Disney confirmed anything about Thunder Mountain or is it just a rumor?? If BTMR is closed I don't know what I'll do. I'd hate to have to miss my nephew say "Howdy folks. This here is the wildest ride in the West...":D

You would think they would want these rides open during the Mardi Gras and President Day weeks.
