I was at WDW 2 weeks ago, rode Splash several times, and it is in very good shape. That's they way I've found it the past 4 visits (over 3 years). I wonder why a major refurb?

Just got back in contact so the refurb is August 28th- Novmeber 16th.

I had posters on the disboards saying Splash was going down in July for a long refurb. Of course they heard from a CM so it was more or less shot down. If this is true I don't understand the timing. Considering the long refurb a couple years ago and they normally close it in January when weather is cooler.

True but Splash is a water ride usually water rides go down in the cooler month because they are much busier in the summer. Unless there is more to this and they can't wait that long.

There are a LOT of refurbishments coming to the Kingdom over the next fours years. Perhaps a major one is taking the first half of 2018.

Sadly, Splash is major for me. But, such is life....

It's a major ride but this isn't a major refurb. The ride hasn't had a refurb since January 2016, so if it can't have one in winter 2018, we go with fall 2017. This refurb will be similar to the one it got in winter of 2014--the last time it had a full refurb.

I think this is lift tunnel effects install in BTM, as it was on the list of 50. Heard it here 1st.....

Hardly Refurb schedule went out today to certain cast. Believe it or don't. But it's happening. There is a reason they are not doing it in the holiday period which is why I made the thread. Something curios is afoot.

Global warming? Maybe they think it will be warm enough during the holidays tor ride.
