Was at MK today and got a 7:30 FP for Splash and got there around 7 and saw that the ride was stopped and waited at the drop for about 40 minutes until they told everyone they would be evacuating the ride
Yea, happened to us at Pirates a few months back. I assume they gave you a fast pass of some sort? Was at MK today and got a 7:30 FP for Splash and got there around 7 and saw that the ride was stopped and waited at the drop for about 40 minutes until they told everyone they would be evacuating the ride
It would probably be pretty likely to happen when the ride first opens from a refurb.ALREADY????!!!!!
I highly doubt it would happen unless they completely neglected maintainence for more than a decade, but I'm curious as how they keep from the carts on the 7DMT from tipping, when it opens. It happens. It would be cool to be evacuated from this ride, along with SSE, POC and HM.
A few years ago, we were evacuated from BTMR, part way up the first hill. The waterfall was just ahead of us, the steep drop to the cavern was to our right, and we sat there for 20 minutes while they tried to shut off the water. I was paranoid that if too many people leaned to the right to get a good look at the cavern that we would tip. (Does anyone think this is even possible?) Eventually, they escorted us out, with the waterfall still running full strength.
It adds to your "story collection".

The CM's have to get used to the new system, and the bugs sill have to be ironed out
Roller coasters have three sets of wheels. There's a set above, below, and on the sides of the track. The train doesn't just sit ON the track or it would completely fly off the rails every time you went over a hill or around a turn. Even powerful machinery wouldn't be able to "tip" a train over because it's essentially attached to the track.I highly doubt it would happen unless they completely neglected maintainence for more than a decade, but I'm curious as how they keep from the carts on the 7DMT from tipping, when it opens.

7DMT is going to have swinging cars, so will there be special considerations to keep the cars from swinging while they try to evac the cars if it stops in the middle? I have to believe there'll be a way to lock them into place so its safe to get in and out, otherwise even loading the cars in the station would be tricky.
Mine too!And that was my thought.
I've heard it's a more advanced computerized system now. I apologize if I am wrongSo the CM's caused the evac? How?
New system, I missed that. What new system?
