Our trips are usually in January. I wish they’d do something like alternate January and February.
Wait, dont tell me. I haven't even looked. It starts January 13th. The day after the marathon.

This has happened, multiple times. Including a death with one incident. Suppose it takes more than that??
Unless this was before a lap restraint, but I’m pretty sure Splash mountain has always had a lap restraint in WDW.

I think it was added around 2000, im fairly certain it didn’t in 1998.

Rode it in the late 1990s when no lap restraints existed but then safety was not as in the forefront as it is now.

Well if you know that it's going to routinely be down for refurbishment and want to ride it, wouldn't it be better to modify your date range? Maintenance has to happen and the off-season is when its the least impactful to the guests....

Hopefully the two jumping fish will return in good health! Leaping fountains also need work. And was the FSU gopher working? I didn't see it in August but i could have been distracted at that moment

Hopefully they can plant grass after the second lift hill. Holy cow, it’s been months and all that grass is still dead. It looks awful.

I would bet there will be artificial foliage installed in that location during the refurb since they can’t take care of real plants/grass there any more.
A statement made of ignorance. Splash Mountain goes down during the marathon weekend just about every year. Would it kill them to change in 5 days?

I’m sure people can pick up the phone and get RunDisney to reschedule the marathon.
In our case we have 14 people traveling together, including two different grammar school schedules, a high school schedule, a college schedule, six parents with professional careers, and two retirees. No, it’s not easy to move the dates.

I think they should do that for everyone. "Well, based on visitor scheduling, the only time we have available for the Splash Mountain refurb is September 10th between 9:00am and 12:00 pm."In fairness, Disney has not once called me about when my travel dates are so they can rearrange their refurb schedule around me
