We are a family of 4, kids are 5 and 7. Trying to come up with one more dinner choice. We've done Hoop Dee Doo before and never done the Luau. Tell me what you thought of the Luau, the good and the bad. Do they have a kids menu for picky kids?

Here is the menu listed below, I do not believe they have a seperate menu for children. We thought the show was too long and sort of drawn out. My Disney/darling son (DS), who was 12 years old at the time, enjoyed the Hula girls however. I wouldn't take smaller children I believe they would get restless but that is of course only my opinion.

The food is pretty basic, nothing too out there. I unlike, others have stated on other threads, enjoyed most of the food. The bread is really really amazing. The show isn't nearly as good as the Hoop Dee Doo, but it is still fun, however, I would suggest sitting as close to the front as possible. The father back you are the less engaging the show is. The second half of the show is the best part, that's when they do the traditional luau entertainment. All in all I would say its a solid B to Hoop Dee Doo's A+.

They used to have a kids version back when. It was the Polyenisian Revue with Mickey and all the gang. Combined things you would see now ( Luau show with charecters) Alas No More!

I aslo have pickey eater and one liked most of the food and the other left HUNGRY. I found the food to be just OK...with kids your age i think i would pass on this..wait for them to get a bit older. I agree with post above that this show is an A to Hoop being an A....would revisit Hoop or many the back yard BBQ??? I think that is more for the kids if that is your kind of thing!

I second a previous poster - the show is loooonng and aside from the fire eater/dancer, not that interesting. It's not a regular luau (which I have seen in Hawaii and LOVED) - it's a show with a whole storyline thing - not just dancing and entertainment. I actually like the food - my kids did too - but they had trouble staying interested in the show. It's not like the Hoop Dee Doo where you're laughing and interested the whole time. It's a bit...different. :o

The food is absolutely appauling. We took our kids in sept 09, and the only thing edible was the bread. And yes they have a kids menu, of which my kids tried after they hated the main meal, and guess what, they even hated that. Worst hotdog i have ever tried. At one time, this place was good, but not anymore.

I've been to ALL of the dinner shows...
Hoop Dee Doo is by far the most entertaining for kids.
Mickey's Backyard BBQ is nice ...better for girls (IMO)...they do alot of dancing...great character interaction if you wear your dancing shoes :)
Sirit of Aloha...NOT for kids (IMO)...they won't like the food & they will be bored and drive you crazy.

The food is sub-par at best. The first half of the show is utterly terrible. It's not a luau, but a skit. And a really crappy one at that.

The 2nd half is a bit better with the fire dancer.

They invite all the kids up and teach them a dance. Agreed the food is not as good as either the Hoop Dee Doo or BBQ.
