Now that you made the decision a quick tip to still get some of that Polynesian experience, do the torch lighting ceremony - the same fire dancer that is in the show does the ceremony. Check with the front desk for the time, but it is Tues- Sat if I remember. Perfect time to grab a Dole whip at the Pineapple Lanai and watch the show. My son remembers that more than the Spirit of Aloha from the same trip last summer.

We haven't been for several years but had a great time, I believe it was Nov 2013. We liked the food alot, service was absolutely incredible. I think the kids will enjoy the show, it kept my 10 and 15 year old at the time well entertained.

No I would NOT recomend it at all. Boring and Bad Food. Show needs updated and menu changed. Hoop De Doo is better and worth it.

I read that it's not the easiest place to get to and driving would actually take longer since there isn't any parking at Pioneer Hall. From the Poly would you recommend taking the Ferry to MK and then the launch from there to Fort Wilderness?

We always park at Wilderness Lodge and take the short boat ride over .Just tell them what you are doing at the gate.._they are always cool with it

We've done both over the years with our two kids from 1-7 years old and they've enjoyed it every time. When my son was one he did fall asleep at the luau but that wasn't unexpected. They certainly prefer HDD, you can't beat the entertainment and a/c. We've had the same server there a few times and he was great. The food at both are just okay, but that's not surprising for this type of meal. We've always taken advantage of the included adult drinks, might as well since we're paying for it and never drive there. We learned that lesson the first time. Taking the boat over from MK is part of the fun. Enjoy!
