Just wondered if anyone had any news of special events/theme updates on these two rides with the release of Spider-Man and MIIB in theaters this year,

I was thinking about that myself, specially about Spidey. I really hope they don't mess with it, or with the character that nags around there, because I prefer his original costume rather than the movie one.
And I really would hate to have the ride based on that AWFUL Goblin from the movie... :hurl: He looks like a freaking Power Rangers reject!!! Why couldn't they have the original, with the insane smile and all? :brick:

The only "special event" that I know of for spiderman is that annual pass holders get early admission into the park on the 11th to ride all of the superhero island rides.

actually, Stan Lee was cool w/ updating the story line to fit modern times/ideas.

For the most part though, the movie ties along w/ the comic book VERY well

I take it you have already seen it, Tig? I heard it was getting really cool reviews, some people even placing it above the original Superman (YEAH, baby!:sohappy: ). We still have to wait two weeks, though... :brick:

On this note, look what I found:

"Spider-Man" has done the unimaginable and earned the title of the biggest opening in history with an estimated $114 million. It is also the fastest film to reach the $100 million mark and has added to its records the biggest one-day total for a film.

Seriously, for any comic book fan, let alone Marvel's and Spidey's fan, this ROCKS!! It means comics movies like X-Men 2 and even Spidey 2 are gonna get A LOT MORE money!!! :sohappy:

Well, Marvel Films offered their characters to whoever wanted them. Fox got X-Men, and we were all lucky that Sony managed to get Spidey out of the burocratic limbo. Universal got the Hulk, and many others went to Artisan. I don't know if Cap is one of them. Oh, and the FF is with Fox too, I think.

I remember reading a while back that Captain America will be in an upcoming movie. I don't think it will come out for a while but it is coming.

Wouldn't universal want to make spiderman since they have him in their park? Same with MIB? How does Universal get the rights to make rides out of these characters, if another company already made a movie out of them?

They get Spidey through Marvel Comics, not Marvel Films, and I suppose they get MiB through Spielberg. And maybe Marvel, too, since there used to be a comic.
