I agree it is unlikely but there have been numerous rumors that Sony's movie business is of interest by others in the industry and may be sold for the right price. However, as you said their Spiderman movies are of key importance to their profitability and as a result the terms of that contract are the key to the value of Sony Pictures.Not likely. Columbia is corporately merged with TriStar (though both still produce under their own brand names) and is basically the heart of Sony Pictures.
Sony would have to decided to get out of the entertainment business to divest Columbia. Ironically, Spider-Man is one of the tent poles keeping Columbia very profitable.
