I wouldn't call it "hate". More like, so silly and random, it's fun to mock it.
Kinda like this scene from Kraven The Hunter where Rhino does.... whatever this is...
It was silly and cringe, in a movie that was already a sinking ship, yet it still fit his character somehow.

Another character from a previous Spidey saga who got cheated far worse than Venom in SM3 was Black Cat (Felicia Hardy) in Andrew Garfield Amazing SM2.
At least Venom had some screentime fighting Spidey... as short and underwhelming as that was.
But for Felicia / Black Cat, all she got was a brief scene or two at Oscorp. I can't even remember if she meets Peter Parker once, but recall her saying a word or two to Harry Osborne. Had her set-up for future sequels, then *poof* that saga is finished.

Speaking of Spider-verse, it sounds like we’re not getting the third part of the Spider multiverse trilogy until around 2027 if you believe latest rumors.
