Hi,
I'm new to this forum, and will be visting Disneyworld Florida for the first time this June. I will be staying in Disneyworld, and will be there for 2 weeks.

Can anyone here give me a rough idea of how many dollars I should take with me?.

Thanks

Well that is a tough one, little more info may be needed!

Are you a big souvenir shopper?

Are you on a DDP, are you a foodey and like to snack around?

Are you 21 and interested in Nightlife or Drinking Around the World?

Are you planning other excursions such as a Backstage tours, Boat Rental, a Fishing tour etc etc?

 Hope this may narrow it down so we (WDW Magicteers) can assist you!

Hi,
I can answer your questions :-)

I doubt I will be buying many souvenirs. I suspect my partner will buy a couple of plates and cups, but nothing much to be honest.

Me and my partner are not huge eaters. We will however most certainly have breakfast and dinner..Oh and I suspect we will be purchasing quite a few drinks, and maybe the odd icecream as I presume it will be hot.

I'm not too fussed about the nightlife to be honest. But I suspect most evenings me and my partner will have a few drinks.

I would like to rent a boat. Not planning any other excursions, but it depends on the available money.

We have already purchased tickets for 14 days at disneyworld, and a couple of days at seaworld. So hopefully this will provide us enough entertainment.

Hope this helps. Thanks

p.s. what is a DDP? lol

DDP is the dinning plan.
I would also like to know are you make reservations for dinning? Such as table service or are you more insterested in quick service.

I believe I will mainly make reservations for dining, but a few days I will use quick service.

But I think it would be best to consider I will reserve on all 14 days as the maximum required money would be best for me to go by. Obviously if I save money by using quick service some days then it's more money for souvenirs etc.

I'm not interested in character meals lol

thanks

p.s. Oh...I've heard about the DDP but wasn't sure if it was worth it.

Depends:

*Resort/Hotel: Have your booked your resort/hotel yet? If not, do you plan to stay on property or off property?

*Dining: Will you be eating at the resorts/hotel, restaurants, CS, etc. Some people do bring food/snacks/bottled water/etc. with them. This may help cut with costs.

*Park Tickets: Do you plan on basic tickets, park hopper, etc.? How many days do you plan on being in the parks?

*Souvenirs: Are there any must-haves that you have to purchase? What is your limit for spending on gifts?

I've already paid for a 14 day ticket for Disneyworld, and i've booked to stay at the carribean beach resort. I'm coming from the UK, and have also paid for my flights.

I will be eating at the resort. Not sure the best way forward for this, but I presume sit down meals. Maybe the DDP could be a good way forward?.

I think we will spend about $300 on souvenirs at most. Mainly for presents for our family, and a couple of plates and cups I guess lol.

I just want to make sure I have enough money to have a good time, but i'm not going to be silly throwing my money all over the place :-)

You may want to go with a DDP if you want the majority of your meals paid for. I would probably estimate to spend an average $100 a day depending how big your family is.

It's just me and my girlfriend :-)

The DDP sounds interesting, but is there much of a saving?.

I suppose at worst it means I have less money to worry about. And I suppose this is the bulk of the money. I just don't want to feel too restricted that's all.

thanks

Well lets say you and your partner will have a drink in every country in WS so at $10 each x 2 x 11 = $200 for drinking Around the World

Lets say you and yours go out for drinks one night and have 2 drinks each that would be another $40 to $50

A nice dinner out for two $100 to $150

As for food, snacks and souvenirs for each day, (I agree with trr1 on this one) at least $100 dollars a day each person but if your like me and share things (I like to try a variety) I'm sure you would be able to get away with $150 each day for the both of you.

I personally think that when it comes to money being over prepared is always the best choice!

Ok that's cool.

So how about if I purchase the DDP. How much money do you think I would need per day then. I'm thinking $50 each

Well that is if the DDP is a good idea?. I have no idea about it lol.

p.s. If it is a good idea then could I purchase it online?. I can't seem to find anywhere I can purchase online, or find out the cost of it.

If you have the magic your way package you can just have it added to it. I had the table service dining plan last time and didn't like being tied down to reservations. so this time I'm going with quick service dining plan. It's cheaper and no reservations. I feel like as big as Disney is I'll find plenty of different counter service meals to eat during my stay. I can't speak anything of the drinks because I don't drink so I don't know how much they run. but the dining plan has meals, drinks(non-alcholic) & snacks. with the quick service you even get a re-fillable mug to use for unlimited drinks at the resort of tea, coke, coffee & such. you get two counter service meals and two snacks per day. the two counter service meal also comes with a dessert. so you are really speaking of four snacks a day. I really think $50.00 a day per person with the dining plan would be plenty. add a little extra for the drinks because I don't know how much they cost. hope this helps. and you have a magical stay.
