Spending Money - How Much To Consider

Hello Everyone,

Asking for advice in regards to how much spending money to use at Disney. My son who is 6 and I are going September 1st to the 6th. I opted out of the dining plan and decided to pay out of pocket for meals due to the fact I know my son is gonna pick at his food and not finish everything. What would you say would would be an effiecient amount to bring or how much you think we will spend each day - we are staying at Wilderness Lodge.

Thanks everyone in advance for your help.

I'd probably budget about $100 per day. From past experience, I'd say about $20 for breakfast and $30 for lunch or dinner at a quick serve restaurant (total for both of you). That being said, there are some ways to save money, you can get groceries delivered through services local to Orlando or amazon prime. We always get a 24 pack of bottled water, a 12 pack of soda and some snacks, which cuts down on what we buy in the parks.

Here is the meal itinerary
Sept 1 Whispering Canyon for dinner - we arrive by 11 am to Wilderness and we can have lunch there quick service - we are staying at the resort the first day.
Sep 2nd Crystal palace lunch and garden grill for dinner
Sept 3rd Tusker for lunch
Sept 4th hollywood and vine for lunch and be our guest for dinner
Sept 5th biergarten for dinner
Sept 6th Le Cellier dinner

Figure for breakfast we can have quick service - for me breakfast is a coffee and a boiled egg not a big fan of breakfast.

Should I cancel some of the reservations - do I realy need all of these- and just do quick service meals? I'm keeping Be My Guest.

Should i cancel the character buffets? My son I guarentee will not eat due to the characters and will be a waste. So confused.

Thank you

I will leave this to the others. We typically only eat at 1 or 2 table service on our trips.

If you want to research menu prices allears.com has a great database.

EDIT: You can probably save a biy sharing quick service meals too. Some places give a lot of food.

I'm confused, your son WON'T eat at the character buffets? Is it because he's scared of characters or because he'll be distracted?

I don't think I'd do Biergarten with a 6 year old. I can't imagine he'd eat enough to make it worth the price.

Thank you we are not big eaters and if we have a large lunch wont be ready for dinner until late and that would be considered an appetizer and I am thinking of the heat have no appetite in warm weather. Definetly will split quick servive meals.

You'll be way overpaying for just about every single meal if your son is a picker. Better bet would be to go to some places where you can order off the menu, that way you're not paying an "all you can eat" price for him.

I usually do $100 per adult per day.

I'm not a fan of Hollywood and V unless going for Disney JR, the food is let's say I'll be polite and not say, and Le Ceiller is over hyped I'd skip that also with so many good qs options in EPCOT. As for the buffets I LOVE CP and it's a nice break during the day, GG is also nice but after a big lunch it would be a bit much, SS is a nice inexpensive qs option. Just my 2 cents

When my sons were little, we usually had the sit down meal for lunch (usually reservations between 1 and 2). At night we had QS and if not that hungry just snacks. It just worked best because we used to go in August and it was a great way to get out of the hot sun in the middle of the day.

Yes I agree to qs and one sit down meal a day through-out the day- this kid is going to be chasing every sweet in the park and i figure why not were on vacation he is limited to sweets at home.
