What’s even the point of this ? This happened like 15 20 years ago. Why complain now?

It happened in 2005 when I was six, also for a while after when I put my hand in my mouth, my mom said what did Mary poppins say. Also I do not remember the last time I seen Mary poppins film. Saw Mary Poppins Returns in theatre. I do know in the book version Mary does talk down to them,

She doesn’t talk down to them, she corrects their behaviour. Just as a nanny was supposed to do in those days.

Now that you’ve returned to the thread, can you explain why you think she broke character? - especially since you’ve read the books?
