Saw this little blurb in the December 2006 Conde Nast Traveler. Thought I'd pass it along....in case any of you have money to burn!

50 Experiences That Only Insiders Can Deliver

Enjoy prime seats for the afternoon parade at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, where waiting in one less line could save your sanity. Instead of staking out curbside standing room on Main St. 90 minutes before step-off, arrive at a shady bench on the bridge to Frontierland just ten minutes early. The Disney-clad characters make sure to give special attention to guests seated there. Cost: $750, including five hours in the park with a VIP escort.

Any takers???

PS is this part of some of the "special" tours....and how many people does it include? I hope your entire group for that price!

$750 dollars? I'd rather have the regular Disney experience and come 90 minutes before the parade, although I've never shown up 30 minutes or more to watch it:lol:

No
I suspect the 5 hours in the park with a VIP escort might be the real value here...

Although I would think that 5 hours in the park with a VIP escort would be better if you could altogether skip the parade entirely

When I was at the MK in May, a very nice CM was trading pins with my son, and gave us her business card and told us to go to the bridge between Libery Square and Main Street for special seating. Just because!

We went there, and they have 6-9 benches there, and no one else around except the people sitting there. The rest of the people were on a special tour with CM guides. I don't know if this is the same tour or not, but the characters all stopped to see everyone, as there was no one allowed on the other side.

The other side from where we were sitting appeared to be the "fix it" area for the characters in the parade. One of the brooms got sick and was led backstage.

If I remember correctly, any VIP tour services are $150/hour with a certain number of minimum hours. $150*5hrs=$750.

When we were there last week.... one of the VIP tour guides was trying to hurry into the Princess room at the county fair tent in Toontown.... but we did beat her slightly. Mostly due to her "client" lagging behind. That woman had on pumps with like a 3inch heel, but she really could move fast..........

The area you're talking about is considered the Alcove. The Fantasyland Operations team runs day parade and is in charge of this area. Depending on how many VIP tour guides book the area, we may choose people to sit here if it's not filled up. The only way to positively get a spot here is to book the tour with a guide through City Hall, which is $150/hour (for up to 5 people) for a minimum of 5 hours. We have this seating for every parade, so if you just go to City Hall and ask, they may put you on the list. FYI...booking a tour with a guide does not guarantee you front of the line service on the attractions.

Just to nip this in the bud. DO NOT go to City Hall and request parade seating. It's not something one can request, just like one cannot walk in and ask to be Grand Marshall. Also City Hall does not book VIP tours, there is a VIP tours department that does that. City Hall, or any Guest Relations can give you the phone number to call to book a tour but there is almost never same day availability for them.

Our experience was just one of those random "special things". We were over by the PotC, and my son was hot on the lookout for CM trading pins! They lady was very nice, and my mom still has her business card. She was in a management position of some sort, if I remember correctly.

We actually never mentioned the parade to her at all. In fact, we were not quite sure if we were going to view the parade. It was just a random pin trading moment.

(PS, I love the pin trading at the park with the CM's for children. They have so much fun interacting with the CM's)
