I tried to search and search but did not see this particular issue. Recently I was diagnosed with a rare genetic disease that lead to liver disease. I have to keep my salt/sodium intake to an absolute minimum under 1000mg a day. Ideally almost nothing. I always get the meal plan but is there a way or can some one help me find out sodium nutrition facts before we get there? I'm trying to get there this Jan if I can get this under control.

True but also even if you say to not add salt some foods naturally have a higher amount of sodium from preservatives etc even with fresh food at the sit downs. Best choice would be to put on all your ressies ahead of time for the sit downs that you are on a salt restricted diet and they can create special items just for you. The chef will usually come talk to you when you arrive and if they do not remind them of your restrictions. Also at most QS you can also tell them of your restriction and they can let you know what you can have etc. :)

At every counter-service location they have a binder full of an ingredient and nutrition info for everything they serve. They can also have a manager come out and talk to you about your options.

I presume the table service locations have a similar information binder.

All Walt Disney World® restaurants which accept reservations can accommodate lifestyle dietary needs associated with restrictions or lifestyle choices. These include but are not limited to no sugar added, low fat, low sodium, low carbohydrate, vegetarian and vegan.

Most Lifestyle Dietary needs at Disney Dinner shows can be accommodated if ordered at least 24 hours in advance by calling 407-WDW-DINE. Please alert the reservation agent to all needs and which member(s) of the dining party they refer to. In some instances, further communication with the dinner show dining location may be required to ensure best service.

For all Full Service restaurants, Guests should advise their server at the location upon being seated. Most Quick Service locations offer a menu variety that will accommodate most lifestyle dining options. Guests can refer to their Theme Park guidemaps for locations marked with the “red apple” symbol.

Are you staying onsite? I have a family member who also must limit his daily salt intake to very small amounts. At the Table Service restaurants in the on-site hotels and at World Showcase, it worked out great. We would speak to a manager before ordering and explain the issue (most of the time they would even send the chef out to talk to us). They always were able to accommodate his dietary restrictions. It was much more of a challenge for lunch at MK and AK, but he was able to find a restaurant that accommodated him at each park after a bit of searching. None of the quick services places had food that worked for him so we had to seek out the table service places.

Best thing to do ... call a number of places in advance and explain the issue. We found WDW as a whole to be very accommodating to this situation.

Happened at 50s Prime Time tonight. A guest had a allergy and the chef came out to give specific options.

My daughter is allergic to shellfish and each time we went to a restaurant the chef came out to talk with us. They prepared her meal away from any shellfish preparation and if she was ordering chicken nuggets they assured us that they do not come in contact with oil where shellfish was prepared. It was very helpful and we didn't have any issues the entire trip. They key is to note the issue on every ADR and if you go to a counter service talk to the cast members. They will assist you. I found Disney to be tops when it comes to food allergies.

Your best bet for advance info would be to reach out to special diets, you can find more info on that here -> https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/guest-services/special-dietary-requests/ and contact them via email here -> Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com However, they typically view low/no sodium as a lifestyle dietary requirement rather than an allergy. Working with them via email in advance might help to get things arranged, but unless they have to do a specific meal for you, you don't often get detailed info on ingredients. The ingredients/suppliers can change frequently so they would often rather you get specific info from the restaurant at the time you order.

Yes we are staying onsite at pofq. I never really feared the sit down table service meals or the snacks. In my mind it would be easy to figure out low sodium with those. It seems that everyone agrees the quick service part of the meal plan is going to be the battle. It's not an allergy I have or a lifestyle diet but it keeps me from having a really bad day health wise. Just have to do some homework before leaving.........
