Special but affordable dinners at WDW

Hey, guys!

I am planning my December trip to WDW, and I have some doubts about restaurants around WDW... We'll celebrate two birthdays during our trip, and we want some nice/different/special dinners, but not very expensive. In one of them, I was thinking of a character dinner, maybe Chef Mickey's. But the other... I am having some trouble. Here is the problem: we'll leave Rio de Janeiro in the morning of Dec 28th, and we are scheduled to arrive there around 6PM. If everything goes well, we'll be at Pop Century around 8PM. But we cannot make reservations, as we need to consider delays, etc... So I was thinking of a restaurant outside the parks, where we could arrive late, like 10PM, or something... Any suggestions?

Unfortunately in December even the various resort restaurants will probably be fairly full with ADRs, especially any 'nice' ones. If I were you, I would make an ADR for a time that I was hoping to be there - at least then you have it planned and if you are late you may still get in!

That's a good idea! Do you know what time the restaurants normally close?
