Setting

The setting for this nighttime spectacular is in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. The castle must have a small area for a stage and also must have an area in/near one of the towers for an Audio Animatronic head capable of firework launches. Also, a special fountain area must be built in front of the castle. Four stone towers must also be installed around the hub as light/sound towers with firework launchers.

The Show

As the preshow music quiets down, the lights go down and off. Sleepy Beauty Castle is illuminated in sparkling colors. Over the speakers, wind chimes are heard. Then the announcer’s voice comes over.

(Announcer) – On this magic night, let your mind take flight as Disney proudly presents a magical journey full of visual sights, wonderful colors, and an evil sorceress. Now look up and watch as the night sky comes alive with Sparkle, Shimmer, and Burn, Disneyland Paris’ 15th Anniversary Nighttime Spectacular.

Just as the announcer finishes the word Burn, and faint chime is heard. The chime grows into a wonderful symphony. Then as the symphony erupts red fireworks burst behind the castle. A gang of dancers comes out the castle gate and they dance to Disneyland Paris’ 15th Anniversary Theme Song, now playing over the speakers. In the background, sparkling pink, green, yellow, orange, and blue fireworks erupt. Mickey, Chip, Dale, Pluto, Goofy, and Donald then come out.

(Mickey) – Hey Gang!

(Goofy) – Where’s Minnie?

(Mickey) – Watch This!

A firework blows up on stage and Minnie is there (kind of like Fantasmic!).

(Minnie) – Hehe! All right! Now that’s what I call fast!

(Mickey) – Let’s see what this castle can really do.

Mickey pulls out a baton and begins shooting the fountains in front of the castle into the air. Behind him, fireworks explode with matching colors. The castle begins to sparkle with sparkles. Then, Minnie grabs the wand and turns all of the fireworks and colors, and the castle pink. Then Chip and Dale grab the wand. They turn everything green. Pluto grabs the wand and everything switches over to yellow. Then Goofy grabs the wand from Pluto and everything turns orange. Finally Donald grabs the wand and everything turns blue. The characters get into a fight over the wand each screaming out his/her color and then Mickey sends the fountains into the air as characters break up.

(All Of The Characters) – PINK! GREEN! YELLOW! ORANGE! BLUE! All together, look what they can do. All of these colors make me want to say, “OH OH!” All together. YA!

Then the lights fade out on the characters as “Waltz of the Flowers” by Tchaikovsky begins to play. Pictures of the four seasons are projected onto the castle. Spring has flowers floating down the castle accompanied by pink, green, and blue fireworks. Fall has leaves falling off of trees with yellow and orange fireworks. Winter has snowflakes coasting down the castle along with beautiful white fireworks. Then, the waltz begins turning into evil music. The waltz completely fades away as evil music plays. Fire bursts in front of the castle and Maleficent is on stage. Mickey then comes from the dark.

(Maleficent) – FOOLS! This castle belongs to me and me alone. Leave now.

(Mickey) – This castle rightfully belongs to Princess Aurora and not you.

(Maleficent) – Now you shall deal with me and all the powers of EVIL! You’ve chosen your fate. HA HA HA! I’ll show you magic! BOO! HA HA HA! Say goodbye to your precious castle.

(Minnie) – OH NO Mickey!

With the swing of her wand, green fire erupts around her. Smoke engulfs her. Mickey backs away quivering. Fire erupts out the four towers around the hub high into the air. The front of the castle goes dark as the image of Maleficent growing and morphing into a dragon is projected onto the castle. The music grows louder and louder reaching a climax. A pair of yellow eyes appears and then the lights reveal an Audio Animatronic head of Maleficent in dragon form near the highest tower. Then, she opens her mouth and red fireworks shoot out in all directions. The castle turns black and then bursts on fire. The fire is created through flashing orange/red lights and also real fire. Maleficent’s head disappears behind the castle again. Then out the highest tower, Aurora pokes her head out.

(Aurora) – HELP ME! HELP! AH!

Fireworks burst out the towers as if to show explosions. Everywhere fireworks burst out to show that the castle is exploding. Real fire explodes out the four towers in the hub and on certain towers on the castle itself. Fire bursts below Aurora forcing her in. She screams. Maleficent laughs as her head reappears again. The fire grows intense and more explosions happen. The castle is burning. The music grows to a climax. It grows swelling beyond its own point reaching the climax again. Then the music stops. The castle is left burning and Maleficent leaning over it. Then slowly over the speakers, the sad and graveyard type music is heard as if someone died. Then all of a sudden, out the front gates Minnie jumps out.

(Minnie) – PINK!

Pink fireworks shoot out at Maleficent. Then Chip and Dale jump out the front gates.

(Chip And Dale) – GREEN!

Green fireworks shoot out at Maleficent. Then Pluto jumps out the front gates.

(Pluto) – YELLOW!

Yellow fireworks shoot out at Maleficent. Then Goofy jumps out the front gates.

(Goofy) – ORANGE!

Orange fireworks shoot out at Maleficent. Then Donald jumps out the front gates.

(Donald) – BLUE!

Blue fireworks shoot out at Maleficent.

(Maleficent) – HA! Those are pitiful attempts at magic. Beat this!

She shoots fire out of her mouth and a huge firework explodes in front of the characters.

(Aurora) – HELP ME!

(Mickey) – Come on everyone. Think of magic in your heart and give Aurora wings to fly.

They all lift up their hands and are surrounded in white lights and then all of a sudden, beautiful music plays. In the background, the chorus is heard singing, “MICKEY MAKES YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE!” and “IT’S MAGICAL, IT’S WONDERFUL, IT’S BEAUTIFUL, ETC.” A firework explodes out the top window of the castle and Aurora comes flying out on her wings. Her wings are covered in fireworks and they sprinkle down upon the crowd. She points her and towards Maleficent and a bunch of fireworks are shot at her and she dies a horrible death as Aurora disappears behind the trees.

(Mickey) – You did it everyone. You made Aurora fly. Now let’s bring colors and beauty back to the castle.

(Minnie) – PINK!

Three long pink strands of fireworks fly from behind the castle.

(Chip And Dale) – GREEN!

Four long green stands of fireworks fly from behind the castle.

(Pluto) – YELLOW!

Four yellow strands fly up from the ground vertically into the sky and fall back down with a sparkle.

(Goofy) – ORANGE!

V shaped strands of orange fireworks shoot up from the ground shimmering.

(Donald) – BLUE!

Circular blue fireworks explode from behind the main towers.

(Goofy) – ACHOOOO!

As Goofy sneezes, the castle changes back to its normal colors and at the same time a rainbow of dots with every color get shot up from the castle. The castle is engulfed in this and you can no longer see it.

(All Of The Characters) – PINK! GREEN! YELLOW! ORANGE! BLUE! All together, look what they can do. All of these colors make me want to say, “OH OH!”

Then those fireworks stop as the beautiful music then reaches a climax. Then the yellow eyes appear again as the music changes to evil for a few seconds and then a multicolor firework explodes in front of them and the beautiful music plays again reaches a climax and upon a final note multicolor fireworks explode from behind the castle shooting way above the castle’s topmost tower framing it in beautiful colors. Aurora comes dashing out the front entrance.

(Aurora) – Thank you all for saving me from almost never seeing the beautiful colors again.

Mickey and gang give one last wave as they run back inside the castle through the gate. Then Aurora takes one last wave leaving her by herself. She turns around and runs through the gate. Over the speakers, a wonderful rendition of “When You Wish Upon A Star” plays as the announcer comes back on.

(Announcer) – All of us at Disneyland Paris hope you have enjoyed bringing the colors back to Sleeping Beauty Castle. Now enjoy the rest of your magical night at Disneyland Paris and continue having fun as we celebrate our 15th Anniversary.

I like it, I actually love the idea. It would work, a lil tecnical but it could actually be verry impresseve and one of the better shows for a aniversary in a long time.

Thank you. I made it sortof technically advanced to produce a superior Anniversary show as I haven't seen a good one since Viva! Magic in TDL's 10th which was 1993 if I remember correctly. Also, DL's 45th wasn't that bad, but still, most after Viva! Magic were horrible. I wanted to revive the "Disney Anniversary Spirit." - The WeirdOne :D

Well, you are right, but it is kinda hard to write out yellow in barking noises. BUT, I have heard him say yellow. Sounds like Scooby Doo.

"Rellooo." according to the sound I heard. I wrote "yellow" for better clarity. Thanks for the compliments. - The WeirdOne :D

good concept, only comment is the use of fireworks, which may create too much smoke and blur the show for the guests. Suggestion: use fiber optics in some of the effects around the castle.
