Thought some people might be interested in some pictures of the temporary Spain pavillion they have at EPCOT right now. It's pretty nice looking, but the CMs there said it's being taken down next month. It's nice while it lasts.

Nice shots...:D  :sohappy:

And I just can't help to think something BIG is going to happen in that area in the near future...

I don't know... I hope that area won't be dormant much longer (meaning I'm hoping for an addition of another country (perhaps Spain...)) :hammer: :lookaroun :)

Ummm...I haven't been to EPCOT in so long I may seem ignorant, but why is the Spain pavilion there anyway? (And then, why only temporary)?

It was there for the food and wine festival. Recently talks have been going on between the Spanish Government and Disney to build a Spanish Pavilion. This may be a filler until the actual pavilion is announced, because as we know the food and wine festival has been over for almost a month, and this pavilion is still here.

The question is, are things still happening in this mock Spain pavillion. Are spanish cm's still working there, or is it just a facade to look at? I would say, as long as it's still active, signs are pointing to a permanent predecessor in the future.

By the way, thanks for the pictures, very nice!

From a few days ago....i posted on my board:

Here's a snippet from an Orlando Sentinel story:

So why is the Spanish mini-pavilion, with its impressive walk-through display of the country's Andalusia region, still operating? Could it have anything to do with the current talks going on between Disney World executives and officials in Spain about the possibility of a permanent pavilion, which would become the 11th foreign attraction in Epcot's World Showcase?

No, says Jacquee Polak, a Disney World spokeswoman. "The Andalusia booth is separate from the discussions about a Spanish pavilion," she said.

Spain's current display is still temporary, she said. "It's particularly popular with guests, so it will remain open until the end of this year," she said.
