You won't find much for comparing most of the abandoned descent sets, as they're all behind curtains and a photo of the curtains would basically just be a black square. Here's a comparison of the city set as it is today and how it was in 1994 (courtesy of Martin), though. The fiber optic canopy from this scene was still intact up until 2020, and to date remains the only piece of the old descent which was present post-2007 to be removed.View attachment 794913View attachment 794914

I believe this is the only one to surface publicly, but I can confirm the rest of them are still back there. This is the set of the mom video calling her kid.

I saw it through a hole in one of the tarps and caught her out of the corner of my eye. I wish I got a picture of the face but I needed to be quick!

The only thing to be removed in the descent since 2008 is the fiber optic city’s canopy. All of the 94 vignettes are still intact behind the curtain, the lady is just the only one you can feasibly ever spot from the ride path.

The main ones from that scene are behind curtains, but the ones at the upper right (in front of the pepper’s ghost effects which are also behind curtains) are visible yes.

Look at all that futuristic design and hard work put into the finale decent. You can really see all the attention to detail when the lights are on

and to think were getting close to 20 years of that mess that they seemed so proud of. it all needs to get ripped out like yesterday.

Don’t sell yourself short, the others are really cool, but you just confirmed speakers 20 through 22 are still there!

The craziest part is that this thread was started to discuss one defunct portion of the descent, and now all these years later we’re talking about different defunct portions of the descent that were still part of the ride when the thread was started!
