Spaceship Earth Update

Has there been any news from Disney about them remastering the narration on Spaceship Earth? I wonder if they know just how bad the current recording is.

I like the recording as is but maybe there is some communication breakthrough that I don't know about that should be amended to it. Why/how would it be changed? Why would we want to draw the attention of the Disney "fix-it" crew? We all know what a "bang up" job they did on JIYI.

I havnt heard of any plans to provide a remastered version. I dont think the quality of the recordingl is the problem. I am sure they would have a good quailty digital master, as the current version wasnt recorded all that long ago.
The playback system is rather old, and I think the quality problem is there, rather than the recording. So I dont think a remastered track is going to help.

Thats not the first person to narrate the ride right? i thought it was walter cronkite that did it first. Now its jeremy irons. It does need to be remastered or something.

I think it is a problem with the playback. I have noticed in the past few times riding it that the audio skips out or doesn't work at all for some of the scenes.

I didn't understand that you meant the actual recording not the content. Could it be that some of the individual cars need rehab - like new speakers or something?

Now I'm no expert on audio technology, but I think the speakers in the omnimover cars are operating a bit beyond their range and life expectancy. In some cars the narration is fine, but in most it tends to fluctuate in volume drastically throughout the ride and might even have some static. I'm sure they will eventually rehab that element once Spaceship Earth has the funds for it, since everything else at that attraction is still in tip-top shape.

Yes, you are right about the Cronkite comment but I have to agree with Steve, I was on it Sunday and the audo was perfectly fine but I'v been in cars before where it poped in and out and got loud and quiet...

I was wondering if someone can help me find the music thats in spaceship earth. Preferably the music when you are decending, Its almost like a symphony type music near the end of the ride. I remember it from in that tunnel of lights at the end, and when you enter that big room at the top where you actually see the earth. if anybody knows where to find it, or if anybody knows what the hell im talking about, let me know

I sure do agree with you. Has anyone else had the speakers start making a high pitched screech in your ears? I've also heard the same thing happen on spaceship earth.

NOOOOO THIS CANT BE HAPPENING. THE RECORDING NOW IS FINE!! THATS MY FAVORITE RIDE!! THIS CANT BE HAPPENING.... YOU MEAN NO MORE..... Do not count on SPE's status as a classic to save it. There are several examples of "classic" rides being changed or removed altogether.
