I think have a roller coaster overhead in the middle of EPCOT (okay, not quite the middle, but one half of Future World) would have been a disaster.

It was designed to go there from the start, though. I think something like Slinky Dog works fine at Toy Story Land too (even though Toy Story Land is pretty terrible). I do not think adding a coaster to that section of EPCOT (which was not originally designed for a roller coaster) would have been a good idea at all; it would have fundamentally changed that whole section of the park.

The planned coaster was just around The Land...not the core of Epcot...it was part of the Pavilion from what I understand....

Oh Time Racers wasn't just inside SSE. You just don't see track on that Gemini overview.

Not publicly, no. But it's an EPCOT project, I'm sure more will leak eventually.

I'm not sure how much they could block the track with foliage there. If they'd built it somewhere that is currently backstage maybe it would have worked, but the concept plan had it right in front of the pavilion and up against the Seas, too. It looked like guests may have potentially walked directly underneath it to get inside the pavilion.

yeah, obviously we will never know and if it would have had a ton of track very visible then wouldn't be great ... just think that one had potential to be cool

I'd love it if there was a way to take you between IG to front of the Park without having to go through the park

Having IG Skyliner station be a continuing station stop just like Riviera make it go straight and turn to arrive at the front of the park would make it a ultimate resort hopping option between Hollywood Studios/skylinerresorts/epcotresorts and Magic Kingdom area via monorail and skyliner!

Except no one wants the ugly infrastructure that comes with it in or at the front of the parks, its bad enough how it is already where they are placed. By infrastructure I mean the ugly concrete poles etc.

I disagree...the DHS Skyliner station is not ugly and adds a fun kinetic element at the parking lot entrance... it would do the same for EPCOT...station would be appropriately themed for EPCOT's architecture....

I see, but my proposal will be different actually the best because it will be secluded in the back of buildings and trees. It will arrive similar to Hollywood Studios at the bus depot near the entrance.

A new SSE mishap I hadn’t seen before - the initial scene’s curtains all pushed to the side and messed up. Fixed by the next day though!

Bummed it will be closed when I am there in late August, but guess timing make sense to take this down after TT 3.0 opens

Maybe get some previews of the update (assuming more than just routine maintenance - even if not full overhaul) at DD23

The track needs a complete overhaul, like removing every vehicle and replacing most of it. Given the complexity of doing that in a sphere with only a few access points none which are big enough for heavy machinery, that’s not a few months job. It didn’t need that in 1994.
