I know we all talk about making the decent better with theming ect. But is there enough room to make entire scenes? Or is it much tighter and compact vs the accent?
Im just curious if extra scenes could be tacked on after earth scene.

If I remember correctly, it used to have some small shadow box type scenes, but, it was mostly screens. It was different then the small screen that we now watch, but, I don't remember it being all that spectacular. I enjoy seeing my beautiful face on the TV screen in the ride vehicle. It takes my mind off the fact that I am plummeting backwards over a cliff during that time.

Check out videos of the 1994 Jeremy Irons version. Your question will be answered. And your mind will be blown. I miss it dearly.

There is limited space. Prior versions used the space for rear gobo projection screens and then rear video projection. Mirrors were used to make the space feel bigger. It was fantastic.

1994 saw heavily forced perspective mannequins in small show scenes with peppers ghost added to give a bigger feeling of depth.

2007 saw the space wasted.

BAM! and thats what were stuck with. I dont know which is worse the lousy curtains or the horrible hanging triangles, esp where the future city use to be, when riding by that part I cringe.

but to be clear you could never put real scenes in?

I agree! The previous version left you with a feeling of optimism and energy which I thought helped carry you through the rest of the park.

I know this is off topic, and I apologize, but does anyone else think that the current SE narrator sounds more like Rachel Weisz than Judi Dench? I half expected to see Rick O'Connell battling Imhotep in the Egyptian scene during my last WDW visit ;)

My friends and I always enjoy the funny video at the decent. It's amusing and I've always liked it better than the decent before it.. But I know I'm in the minority on that here.

The irony is you could still have as much fun at a podium in Project Tomorrow. Have your photo taken, answer the questions then see and save the video. All off ride. Like California did.

Even if the tech that does it in Orlando is clever.

But see.. It doesn't feel the same! For me at least. It's kind of like saying you can eat dole whip anywhere in the theme park at Disneyland, but some people are attached to specifically enjoying it while watching the enchanted tiki room.

That's kind of how it is for me and other people. It wouldn't be the same at some computer screen anywhere else in the resort, it has to be spaceship earth !
