There will be a launch of the Space Shuttle Atlantis on November 12th (so excited). How is the view from the World?
New thread is HIGHLY needed. Be my guest, I'll post in it.Slightly apropos (perhaps a new thread needed?).
Test flight of the Ares I-X is scheduled for Oct 27. Launch window is from 8a to 12p. It will launch from pad 39B.
Quite a historic launch. First new "heavy lift" vehicle in many years.

I look at shuttle launches like sporting events. You go there with the intention of seeing your team wining at the end but if that does not happen you still had fun at the game. When you go to a place like Space View there is sort of a festival atmosphere that is quite entertaining. The waiting is half the fun. Even if the shuttle does not go up you still had fun waiting for it.I so want to go back down and watch one.
I am 0/4 this year in shuttle launches. Scrubbed on multiple days.
But waiting on a small pier in Titusville for 7 hours was actually pretty fun. Then, getting an update on my phone saying it was scrubbed just prior to 9 minutes and counting mark was not fun...

Sorry to report the launch date has been moved to Monday the 16th because of a conflict with another launch by the USAF.
