Im always afraid of my kids falling out,so I usually hang on to their shoulders as they are in front of me,I dont know if someone has ever fallen out but sure seems like they could.last year my right arm was black and blue from holding my son.

If it makes anyone feel any safer, I know for a fact that Shaq has ridden Space several times, often with his arms in the air. If he can do it without injury, so can most anyone else.

I can go with that. But i heard that along time ago, I think it was HM, that a lady was "Car hopping" and she jumped and got injured or killed or something.

I believe any "car hopping" deaths have been contained to Disneyland. According to Snopes.com, 2 people were killed on the Matterhorn, and 2 were killed on the People Mover. All accidents were results of guest not following proper safety precautions (standing up, taking off their seatbelt, or "car hopping").

I never really understood why people car hopped or take off there seat belts lol what kind of "moron" would do that... and if they get hurt then they try and sue disney well really it was the persons fault. most of the time it's the persons fault if they weren't acting stupid then they wouldn't have gotten hurt

The darkness plays tricks on your perceptions. For instance, the top speed of Space Mountain is a mere 28 mph. (That fact blew me away when I first heard it. I would have guessed it was around 45 mph!)

Heh, at 6' 5", I dont fit well in the cars, at all. I don't know how many times i duck, not even having my hands up. I just always have this feeling I'm going to bust my head wide open.
I know how you feel (I'm 6'6") - lets face it, these rides were designed to give us guys sufficient arm clearance even if the signs say DON'T - otherwise Disney would find themselves being sued an awful lot.
