Space Mountain Walls

Anybody have any idea what the walls are for at Space Mountain? They just showed up a few days ago just to the right of the FastPass return line, and none of the Cast Members there seem to have a clue. Someone suggested it was to prepare for a Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom addition to TLand. I was thinking maybe something related to NextGen FastPass. Thoughts?

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
Josh at easywdw posted a picture of a similar "box" at Star Tours two days ago. He also suspects that it may be NextGen related.

The area to the right of Fastpass Return is where the FedEx Lounge is (a place where the bigwigs of FedEx, the former Space Mountain sponsor, could go to chill out while in the park), so it might have something to do with that

unlikely, the box is only about 6X6 and is right up against the rails at return. The gate to the lounge is still clear.

The ToT box is on the Standby side not the fast-pass return side. It is gunking up the gate entrence by forcing the standby to have to get around the Fastpass return line

Maybe it's a new Fastpass entrance machine which has a scanner that reads the bar code and gives a go, no-go reading instead of a CM having to look at each ticket and making the determination whether or not you can go on the ride. This would definitely enforce the new fastpass rules.

And/or you will also be able to use your Xpass
