Hmm...I was told by someone differently. I'll have to go back and investigate what the user was thinking then.

Very very different. But you do make a point on how many people think both tracks are the same.

I do like Space Mountain and I would like the current version kept. (for those who complain about roughness, which I have never noticed, is that there is a very simple solution to your problem, it is called adding shocks to the cars).

But anyway, Space Mountain will eventually be replaced, I hope though that remains as a non-looper for one big reason:
-Loopers require over-the-shoulder restraints, those things are very very annoying, and plus, inversions tend to be bump unless you hold your head back.

But anyway, I want Space Mountain the way it is at least for another decade, hopefully 2. (hmmm.... ride torn down on its 50th to make way for new ride, that would get a lot of people mad).

IMO: No one has complained about wanting the Matterhorn's track to be re-designed, so why bother with Space? (both share the same track layout, for those who don't know).

Thanks for correcting that guys...that mistaken belief is a big pet peeve of mine. :brick:

As for Matterhorn, at least they have been replacing it's track a little bit each year for a long time now. At the very least, Space Mountain deserves the same treatment.

I'm ashamed that I believed that theory for this long.

Replacing the track with new one of the same kind I would be all for. It is pretty bad that they have neglected this. Maybe it's because it's easier to replace some of the Matterhorn's because it's outdoors? With Space, would they have to rip open a side of it to get new track in? (like the DL one)

It's amazing that this coaster still has so many thrills for being so old and so small. It might not be the biggest. It might not be the fastest. It might not give you the most Gs, but it is still a fun, great ride that many can enjoy.

Here's to Space Mountain.

I agree with Lee and Nemo...

This Ride needs a rehab...BAD. I do not advocate "gutting" the building. However, how many of us would actually be against some improvement?

i.e. A Rock 'N' Rollercoaster-esque sound system
i.e. Improved special effects
i.e. smoother track
i.e. more comfortable (and better looking rockets).
