Space Mountain Schematics

I was wondering if there was any way I could get schematics, plans, blueprints or something of the sort of Space Mountain. My girlfriend loves Disney but she's afraid of some roller coasters, and I dont want her to miss out on such a great part of Disney World. I assured her that space mountain wasn't bad and was mostly just turns and not big drops... but she says she wont ride it unless shes sees it. So does anyone have some sort of schematics of the track or a photo with the lights on? Or can some one at least photoshop some fake plans for me? LOL. Thanks for your help!

I saw this picture too but take a look closely at it. It shows the lift hills on each side of the mountain. The WDW versions has both tracks lifts next to each other in the middle of the mountain.

Could this picture be of an older model or of one used at maybe Tokyo Disneyland?

Anyway, its nothing more than curves. It feels like you are going really fast but in actuality you only go 25 miles per hour or so. The quick turns and blindness make you feel like you are going faster.

You may have to refresh the link. I got it to work. It's pretty cool! Thanks!

Amazing video man, that's a rare chance to be on the TTA with the lights on and have a video camera!

I'd personally like to see an overhead drawing of the track layout. There has to be one somewhere.

The version of Space Mountain depiceted in that model was never built.

I can't think of a place to get a good photo of the layout.

Yeh it can't be WDW's. The loading station is outside the mountain in that picture, Unless I've been deceived all this time, you are in the back of the mountain at WDW.:p

Boy, riding in the dark gives a great illusion. All this time I thought the coaster had some height to it, but we are actually only hip high to an imagineer.

Grizzlyhall, you've seen me around me long enough that you should know I have the plans for every disney ride. :)

I drew the track layout in 3D, turned it into a jpeg and added text for clarity. I still have to go back and smooth out slopes and curves and I want to add the structure that holds up the track and emergency walkways alongside but that would be going a bit too far

What a great picture, great job! Do you have a higher resolution copy of that? If so I'd like to see it.

I checked your photo album and the only one there is the Space Mountain, what other layouts do you have? It'd be really cool if you could share some of them.

*cough*Splash Mountain, R&R Coaster, Spaceship Earth*cough* :animwink:

I don't have most of my stuff here (as you noticed the only thing I have here is the space mt thing). I'm the moderator of the disneymodeler's club that grizzleyhall mentioned in his post

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/disneyworldmodelersclub/

I've got 75 drawings of theme parks, attractions, hotels, whatever including *cough* splash mt, and *sneeze* spaceship earth. I have a plan of RnRoller but it's kinda confusing (looks like a plate of spagetti in plan, I figured it all out but I haven't tried drawing it in 3d yet).

If you want to see them you have to join the club, go to the photos section and the folder marked "ed's plans of disney stuff" there's also a quicktime movie of a flyaround of the model of the DL space mountian in the files section.

I know it's a pain but I'm going to be spinning the stuff off into it's own web site . (I've been saying that forever but this year I mean it and my resolution is only 6 days old)

other former threads that have my stuff

Sorry but that's the only pic I have of SM with all the notation

Hey, as long as I started a photo album I should put more than one photo in it huh?

this is neat... I've done a pretty complete rendering of the WDW Haunted Mansion in vectors, and I know how difficult it is to get this sort of stuff done well.

could I request a high resolution copy of Pirates? and do you have any plans / materials to attempt the Disneyland Pirates?

thanks. :)
