Check it out!

I know some of you are fans of the Jules Vernes theme but it's replacement seems very cool and could draw a large croud!

Your thoughts?

My thoughts?
WDW STILL has the crappiest Space Mountain of them all.

Thanks for the pointer. Shame it did not tell us what the attraction will be like. I found the bored looking bloke at the lecturn quite funny.

I just downloaded the video. It's VERY cool and stylish. The thing is, I just hope they don't mess up the Jules Verne theme, but since I saw the Columbiad cannon in there, I don't think they would mess the theme up. So far, I heard that the new portion of the attraction will be that you are traveling to a nebula, but looking at the end of the video, I'm not sure about that no more. Oh well, might as well have patience.

Lee- IDK about Space Mountain here, (Yes, I'm a Disney fan, and I have NEVER been on it; why? Same reason for why I didn't went on AE and ToT: I don't like things being done to me in the dark :lookaroun ) but our Mountain is now the oldest, with the renovation of SM in DL, and the SM in DLRP now. OURS should get a rehab ASAP; and SOON. :fork:

Technically WDW's is the oldest.... It was the first to be built.....

Now I wish that they don't spend a ton of money and not get a return investment on this attraction....

But a redone WDW Space Mountain would give a return on investment.
Why else is DLP rethemeing a 10 year old Space Mountain... they know it will boost attendance.
Same at Disneyland...true, it was becoming a safety problem, but plans to redo it were well under way when safety became a factor. Why...it will bring guests through the gate.
At WDW, the same thing would happen. Remodel the mountain to whatever extent (I say gut it and start over), and hype it with as big a campaign as for ToT4...instant attendance boost.

Safety is also a factor. Most steel coasters don't run 365 days a year for 30 years. Sooner or later Space Mtn. will have to undergo a serious overhaul just due to the stress it has taken over the years. Fortunately, WDW has maintained their Mtn. much better than DL and can get a couple more years out of it before it becomes dangerous, and believe me...DL's got DANGEROUS!

DL's would have lasted 30+ years if they didn't install that darned sound system on the back messing up the vehicle's point of gravity.... Thats one of the reasons it was unsafe..... (oh and DL is just getting it's old layout... with some new special effects.. not much different really form what i hear... but more dazzling...)

Yep...but just ONE of the reasons, and was more of a detriment to the trains than the track. ;)

Hey, I'll take it. Same layout...newer and better effects...new trains with built-in audio...new score...Even on paper it kicks WDW's Mountain's tail.

And yet is still draws hour long waits and with my opinion, it is the best. (but of course I have no grounds since WDW's is the only one I have ridden).

And would have a longer wait if it had a 21st century makeover.
Come on, man...you can't call it the best until you have been on some of the others for comparison. I have...and believe me...the difference is alarming.

I said it before and I will say it again. WDW has the largest SM show building, I believe it is 300ft in Diameter and all the other ones are 200ft. WDW need to take advantage of this.

I suspect that MK will add one more E ticket before remaking SM. When this will happen, I don't know
