Space Mountain closing intermittently in September

The trim brakes have completely taken the thrill out of space. They ruined the main drop.

Agreed. Just rode it yesterday for the first time in a year. It's bad.

I rode a few days ago for the first time in a while, and while I'd obviously rather not have that trim brake, I felt that it didn't slow it down enough to ruin the ride. I had heard reports of it slowing it down to the point where it seems like the rocket wasn't going to make it to unload, but I barely noticed a difference besides a quick "pinch" before the final drop. Perhaps adjustments have been made?

Hopefully the ride suffers the same issues that Disneyland's did which would require the incentive to change it.

The trouble is, it just got its "huge" refurb, and even though they only did a tiny portion of what was supposed to be done I can't see them getting back to the attraction and dumping even more money into it for 5-6 years.

Space Mountain's wait times have been considerably lower lately. Fastpass return times are 40 minutes out and currently it has a 15 minute wait according to the app. I'm sure this is partly linked to lower crowds today (I think it's a 2 on the crowd calendar), but is it possible that the reduced ride quality/speed has resulted in the attraction being less popular?

I really don't think 99.9% of the population is aware anything has changed. Most likely just happened to be a slower day.
