Possibly, but considering Star Tours is in that general vicinity, it doesn't make sense.

Right now the park website hasn't changed in over a week. It still claims that the ride will only be down through Friday. You'd think if they were expecting any sort of delay they'd have updated it by now. I'm hoping the shorter park hours during the week has allowed them to get done whatever it is they need to get done.

MiceChat is reporting that Disney has corrected the problem with Space and it should be back up this weekend. Hopefully this actually happens.

• May 3, 2013: Space Back on Track: The new stairwell inside the Space Mountain dome has been finished, and required training for the Attractions and Facilities CM's on how to use the new stairwell begins on Friday (May 3rd). With that, Space Mountain should be ready to reopen this weekend, three weeks after the attraction closure madness began in Anaheim. None of these changes have made it to any of the similar attractions in Disney World, even though Meg Crofton and several other key Orlando executives are fully briefed on the tougher Anaheim standards now.

My friend has a shift again at Space tomorrow but no idea if that's some kind of prep/training or if its the attraction returning.

It's probably both. I had to re-train for King Arthur's Carousel one day, along with all the other CMs, and we operated the attraction right after we finished.

It's not like that. Something that relates to the stairwell will be written in the operation book. The lead will tell them what they need or need not to do with the stairwell, the CM will take probably answer a question regarding the stairwell on a computer, the lead will sign the CM off and that will be the training.
