Figures Cal-OSHA would get shutdown happy 2 weeks before I go. I'm not as upset about it, moreso for my family. This will likely be their only trip to DLR ever and of course one of the key attraction experiences I wanted them to have is unavailable.

The deadline when Disney has to pay the big $200,000 fee is the 22nd. I imagine they'll try to fix whatever they needed to fix and get Space open by then.

I will be at DLR on May 1st for my first visit and I am a little worried as well.

Whelp, I guess I'll just have to do a repeat trip next year and ride the DL version then. I've done Soarin at Epcot so I probably would have skipped it anyway in favor of something different.

Yeah, we're kind of tired of Soarin' Over California over here. There's only so many times you can soar over California, as a Californian living in California.
Guess it's more interesting for us. Ours has the advantage of not being themed to a particular area in the building, so they can probably change it up if we all get sick of it. Plus it's a big ticket attraction. Does yours have the same problem ours has with the film degrading, making the picture awful?

I wouldn't call that an advantage, LOL.

There are a few specks but apparently it's not as bad as Florida's.

Hmm. Wonder why that is. Maybe I'll ride it once while I'm out there just to see. I sure have enough time. I'm sure that by Mid-late June when I go it will be back up. If it's not, Houston we have a problem.

Well, advantage for Disney because they have the cheaper alternative of just refilming to freshen it up when we eventually get sick of it rather than replacing the entire ride. Except IMO, it just has never fit in quite like it does in DCA. It was kind of like, "Where can we put this?" "Oh, how about we put it there and say it's a nature thing?" "GREAT!"

Every time a film-based attraction gets built, everyone's like "but they can just change it up so easily!" Which is true...but it never happens. Epcot should have its own Soarin' film, and I really think ours needs a finale reshoot. Why did they choose Christmas?! Bothers me every freakin' time.

Especially an outdated Christmas without the new lights. It's crazy how the film is over a decade old!

Actually the Disneyland footage was filmed just for the attraction, so it's probably not that old. The other scenes were probably filmed at the same time.

Even so, the Disneyland footage is at earliest from sometime in 1998, 1999, or 2000. Crazy old O.O
