Southwest new booking dates

I just posted on another site but also wanted to post here to get everyone's take on this. I have a friend that tried to book this morning, first thing, and a few minutes after booking opened, their flights were fully booked? Is this normal? I've never had that problem. Sometimes the price would change while I was booking as only so many seats are available at a certain price, but never GONE!

I was able to get our November flights into Tampa with no problem, but when I just looked at flights from PVD to Orlando in November, there are some already sold out in the low price range. I'm guessing that perhaps some sports groups booked?

Or people who had already book free dining trips for November were adding their flights.

We booked our trip for November this afternoon and the morning flights were pretty much all gone.

I might be wrong, but I believe there are some flights that don't offer Wanna Get Away fares at all. You could always check Bradley, Logan, or Manchester.

We booked our flight out of Buffalo at 6:30am this morning. After reading this thread , I checked to see if our flight was booked, and the price had jumped by over $400.00 from what we paid.
Crazy!!!

I was surprised at how high the prices were! I am so glad I did not wait on Southwest. I checked for a friend and the prices were higher one way than I paid roundtrip with Spirit!!!

We paid with points for ours, so I haven't really compared. Prices will fluctuate quite a bit for a while though. I remember last year getting a good deal for December in the fall. It helps that we are able to travel on weekdays too.

I have a voucher for Frontier for $200 that I plan to use for Christmas (if they get their dates released, seriously...), but I checked Southwest yesterday. To fly me and my dog home for 5 days at Christmas was nearly $600.
"Five days at Christmas" being the operative words.

I'll usually fly whatever airline is cheapest except when I go to WDW. I'll only fly Southwest because free checked baggage is an extra valuable perk when you're using Magical Express.

In less than 24 hours the price of our trip has now jumped to almost $500.00 more than what we paid. I am now thinking we got a deal!
My coworker just saw her flight drop $40. They're all over the place from yesterday to today.

Booked our flights for Nov 9-16th honeymoon... it was supposed to be a Nov. 9-15 trip but when we look flying mon-sunday was more expensive than booking monday-monday flights plus hotel! So extra day in Disney for us!!!
