Not if you are FLIPPING to my team!!!!!!!!!!

Quote by me: "All my Flyers have manly stances."

Ummm... nah.

Actually, I've been waiting for this upcoming hockey season for the last 5 years. Not being able to keep up with the high spending teams, the Penguins were forced to basically dismantle their team and sell off every player they had. The last Penguins team was nothing more than a minor league team. And finishing in last place kinda proved it. But not now! This is the season the Penguins will rise again! With the new salary cap of 36 million (what's been reported so far), the high spenders (Rangers, Flyers, Red Wings) are going to struggle to get under the cap. Meanwhile, the Penguins only have $6.5 million in commitments for next season. That means they have nearly 30 million to spend! Even if they don't go to the maximum, they have to spend at least another $18 or so million to get to the salary floor. With the huge list of free agents available and the amount that they have to spend, the Penguins could basically become an mini-All Star team.

So far, only Mark Recchi has officially joined the Penguins. But they are targeting a lot of big names. I don't know who else they'll get but I'm drooling over these possible line combinations. Alexei Kovalev - Mario Lemieux - Mark Recchi, Teemu Selanne - Alexei Zhamnov - Paul Kariya. Is it just wishful thinking? Maybe, but the Penguins can make it happen! :D

when the mets fans chanted "MIKE PIAZZA MIKE PIAZZA" (when he was at bat) I waited until he caused the last out of the inning then I joined chanting "MIKE PIAZZA!!!!!!!!!!"

That was a beautiful thing. And you should mention the bases were loaded and he struck out.

Okay, okay, let me know the next time the Penguins and Flyers match up, and I'll give you a scouting report on which team has the more manly stances.

Well, the Flyers have always been the "tough guy" team while the Penguins are the finesse team. :p

Good point. I guess we haven't proven if the "manly stance theorem" hold for all sports. . .

. . . but there's certainly no question, after Todd Pratt's and Mike Piazza's performance in yesterday's game that it works for baseball.

After you left, I decided I had to get a Todd Pratt jersey, but they didn't have any, so I got Rollins instead.

I just checked, and unless it had a very, very rude subject, I don't think I got it.

Try the e-mail link on my web-site: http://www.visithoover.com/

but I'm on my way out the door, so I probably won't be able to post it until later this evening.

Hi and welcome!

We usually meet in SNJ. I don't know if you would want to make the trip for lunch or something, but when we decide to get together, we discuss it and post it here.

Ok, I know this thread is dead and all, and the game was a while ago, but this is for Gary and Vince............

A little article about: THE MANLY MAN!

Backup Pratt Could See More Action

In Saturday night’s gritty, 8-2 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers at the Bank, the Phillies certainly received a spark from the quarterback of their battery. With a go-ahead solo homer to kick-off a little rally in the fourth, as well as some adept signal-calling and general catcher shenanigans, tough-guy backup Todd Pratt stirred the pot in helping the Phils to the win.

But then again, that’s just Pratt’s way. Whenever the 38-year-old, 13-year vet gets into a game, you can bet that something is going to happen. From the wacky to the dramatic, Pratt’s play and personality fits the bill from one extreme to the other.
